  1. Like a governor? This is the first I heard of it at all. Is it something you can get around in case of emergency? The very last thing I would want to happen is me being chased by a tidal wave going 120 kmph, and my car not allowing me to go above 90 kmph. Or, even worse, risking getting written up at work because you oversleep, and getting there at any speed less than 90 is going to make you late.
  2. over the years I have had a few chevy's. The only problem I had, was the same in all of them. I would be on the interstate, or just down the road from my house where ever else. The alternator would suddenly die with no worning. I was stuck one hour from my home because of it. A friend of ours finally helped us out and got us back on the road. I can't decide if this was worse than anything else because it leaves you completely stranded no matter how far you are from home. Or is it better than anything else that could have happened because its easy to identify, and you don't easily mistake it for something else.
  3. Can anyone tell me which chevy truck would be comparable to the Ford F-150? Our truck is currently a GMC Sierra, and its on its last legs. I would like something with more power and a little more room. I'm looking for an f-150, but I would like to try to keep my options open. As much as I loved my sierra, it just isn't popular enough anymore to find the older model spare parts I need for it. The transmission is shot and there isn't one anywhere in the area. I'm not spending the kind of money it would take to get the new transmission shipped. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!
  4. I have always lived in a Ford family. growing up my dad had a ford truck. This truck stayed with us for so many years. Everytime something happened, my dad would pop the hood whever he was at. It would take one look, and one turn of the key to figure out exactly what was wrong with it. My dad has never put a vehicle in the shop. Anything that went wrong my dad could fix it, with no motor hoist, and with no special tools. More than once he didn't have the right part, but was able to fix it with something he had laying around. THAT is the advantage to old, 70's ford trucks. What do you love about them?
  5. I'm in agreement with the OP. The 60's were the best. Then the 70s were okay. And then someone was sleeping on the job for the entire 80's, and let something unnatural happen to the beautiful and terrible beast that was The Mustang. It took on an entirely new look and feel. Luckily, somebody in charge woke up around the Mustang factory, and screamed, throwing his fists in the air: NOOOOO!! WHAT HAVE WE DONE???? What have weeeee doooonne??? This decade is turning out some pretty nice cars. Not my '69 mustang kind of nice. But I wouldn't kick it out of my garage.
  6. I remember when my husband and I had a fiesta. We used it specifically for his pizza delivery job. He could make it the busiest night of the week on less than a tank. It was the only time we came out ahead in the gas/paycheck equation.
