I agree with leey. It is quite natural for turbo-charged cars to burn some amonut of oil. It also depends on the way you drive your car. In my opinion, this is not something that you should worry about.

On an average if burns around 1 liter every 1000-1200 kms then it's very normal. Some old turbo porsche may burn within 800 km due to ageing turbo and weaker seals.

Any other lower numbers are worrisome.

Hi

every internal compassion engine burn oil but the burned quantity vary upon condition and specs.

and all sporty driving and high rives burn oil and it's even mentioned on owners manuals to top it up within specs of use and short quantity.

please specify which Porsche are you looking for.

As per theory, no oil should get burn't in engine if it is not turbo. In turbo due to high pressure it get's consumed. Oil level should stay same or reduce very very marginal in service internal, if major reduction in oil level then it's a leak in the engine or down the sump area (engine oil area).

Hi Taqir

That is true but with the specified operating lubricants and temperatures!

It did exceed 50C last couple of weeks several times!

do you think Mobil 1 would survive on these operating situation?
