Adnoc fuel quality

mark

Recommended Posts

I got my car refueled at Adnoc lately with eplus as there was no other type of fuel was available and few days later car catalytic converter choked to death. Agency suspecting the fuel quality and Adnoc in Sharjah not commenting any possible issue with their fuel grade or error in production....!

Wondering if anyone suffered same here recently...?

I also heard some news about same few days back from the person who stay in Sharjah that his car failed catalytic and become very sluggish to drive after the fuel up from Adnoc. If I am not wrong eplus is 91 octane level fuel and in most cars the manufacture recommend for 92 octane and above. I guess you should have checked your car owners manual if it's fit for so low octane fuel before taking the chance to save little bit.

I agree with brandan, eplus is not made for modern hi end cars. You shouldn't be using it, you can guess the quality with major price difference....!

ADNOC shouldn't be selling so bad quality fuel when they have so much good quality coming through natural sources. Quite hard to believe and accept.

Peeps,,,its the type of car and the recomended fuel type..simple as that.

ADNOC caters to all segments of users. Eplus is cheaper and there are many takers for the same for that particular types of cars that accept. Nothing wrong with the fuel. I use Eplus for my Pajero for the past 7 years and I have had no issues, and I read through the manuals and it falls in that category of OCTANE count and so it was fine.

Since it is not recommended for german cars, I use Special for the mercedes.

Next time if you are not sure of the fuel type... I guess, call up some Emergency services and they will bring the fuel.

Well it seems some bacth of adnoc eplus was defective that cause those issues as i heard from few of my friend as well. As once in a while if you use eplus in higher octane car nothing will happen that catalytic converter get choked like this.

+1 for timmy advise.

Thanks kasim, have they accepted this their fault openly or not about faulty batch.....? I am sure they must have had plenty of complaints over same issue.

Hi

E.Plus is 92 octane while special is 95 and Super (extreme) is 98

So you need to refuel your car with 50 AED of Super (98 octane) and drive it for 30 min on high way speeding at 120 to 140 where allowed and hopefully your engine would flush all the carbon away you may add some octane booster or injector cleaner to 95 special and it would give the same effect.

It's better to do it night time while temperature in thirty's the problem that most of cars running with air mas sensors deceived in hot weather due to air density changes and give the engine false information about air/fuel mixture while other cars running on MAP sensors (Manifold absolute pressure sensors) doesn't have the same issue except for elevation variation.

Please check your fuel cap or door any you'll find factory recommendations RON92 , RON95 & RON98 which refers to the fuel grade and all will mention "UNLEADED"

Good Luck and enjoy your night driving on the highway.
