If you are buying Y62 for 90% city use and 10% off-road at newbie and fewbie levels, it makes sense to trim the bumper and body protection is essential. If you plan to buy this as a dedicated off-road toy you will regret it due to electronics, heavy weight and too expensive to maintain for weekly off-roading.

Once you decide you like off-roading,.. a bumper trim / different bumper is essential. -

Hi Team, Hope you're well. Some brilliant information there. I'm about to purchase a Nissan Patrol, so would be great to know where to start and then I'll use the above to modify accordingly. I also saw this, not sure if of use? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Caldon

@Marek switching to Cooper Discoverer AT3 from H/T was a very noticeable improvement on the sand. Though I found out later that it is a heavier tire and made some long hill climbs a little shorter for me with a sooner exit than other Pajero's. I have read a lot on the forums and saw several reviews on YouTube about different tires and the GO15s are likely a better choice for me as I do a lot of highway driving too. Already noticed a much quieter drive at <120 kph. I'll know for myself about how well they'll do in the desert next time I'm in the sand.

@Abhilash Kottakkal my rim size is 18inch too. In all that time I’ve only ever had a partial pop-out on my front right during an extreme tight turn into a dune. rim size will definitely change the overall handling of your car and potentially even reduce the risk of a popout. However in my personal experience so far so good! I recommend to get use to your car. Become comfortable with 13 psi and then experiment reducing tyre pressure to a maximum of 10 psi. If you’re still not comfortable changing rim size and tyre is always an option. Just don’t make it your only option
