Dipstick or the oil light?

Its really confusing man! Tell me which is more accurate: oil light or the dipstick? Sometimes when i see the oil light on the dash, i check for the level of engine oil. Then i use the dipstick, and the oil level is perfectly fine. So it means the oil light is blinking for no reason. So please, someone answer me. What is more accurate?
