What are synthetic motor oils? And is it better than the ordinary oils?

Synthetic motor oils are actually thinner than the ordinary oil, and it mainly reduces the friction and wear in the engine. But whether is it good for your car or not, completely depends on your car. Some cars doesnt recommend synthetic oil if its a high mileage car.

But some brands like chevrolet runs on synthetic oil only. SO it completely depends on whether your dealer suggests you to put synthetic oil or not.
