Shihab Mohammed bin Solaiman is introducing a solar car in the UAE region. The 23-year-old young Bangladeshi engineering student at Petroleum Institute (PI) recently won a Total Campus Challenge 'Make Things Better'.

The young man presented the 2 specials cars which design by him in the competition. The first car is hybrid and the second one is a solar car. He says the solar car is cost effective than hybrid. The hybrid car can take 150 miles per gallon of its fuel economy.

The Solar Car can go the up-to-the speed of 140km per hour using solar power. As long the sunlight is available the batteries keep recharging. We have tested the Solar ride, going Abu Dhabi to Dubai and came back on it with solar power.

Now this is what I call useful discovery of using the solar power as much as we can and then plug with other renewable alternate to top-up when sun is not available. Good move and this guy has a great future with such tech in his hand.

This may be the real game-changer in the auto world in next few years for tree huggers and guys who battery cars for the bad of the environment or lower range per charge. Really hope this new tech grows in right direction.
