I once removed the valve body socket on a Camry only reverse and last gear worked didn't matter if on l or 2 or d it would only run on last gear there was no pick in car....

I'm still not sure if @Barry was serious or not when he suggested that the OP should cut the power to the valve body to prevent untimely gear shifts. I'm sort of hoping he was just joking...

This is the thing with the internet. Sometimes it’s hard to ascertain wether someone is joking or being serious, or just plain crazy.
