2010 Chevrolet Traverse Review

Recommended Posts

The Traverse is a relatively new addition to Chevrolet’s product line and was introduced only in 2009.

The crossover SUV fills the gap created by the departure of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, but unlike the latter the Traverse has improved people carrying ability thanks to its long length and ample three row seating. The Traverse wears a contemporary crossover silhouette which is uncluttered yet classy.

The fascia has the new Chevrolet look thanks to the twin-port grille with a central slat carrying the Chevy bow tie. The interior too carries over the understated look of the exterior. The Traverse scores in terms of interior comfort and equipment, which is generous depending on the trim version chosen.

Available in four trim options – LS, LT1, LT2 and LTZ – the Traverse can be had with a multitude of luxury features including leather seats and steering, second row captain’s seats, heated and cooled front seats, powered driver’s seat and rear audio control, as well as tri-zone climate control and a dual sunroof. A set of 20-inch alloy wheels, powered liftgate, remote start and rear parking sensors are also available. The Traverse is available in seven or eight-seater configuration.

Powered by a direct-injection 3.6-litre V6 engine producing 313bhp, the two–tonne-plus crossover is no slouch. It has been recorded doing the 0 to 100kph sprint in less than nine seconds. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, which transmits power to either the front-wheels (FWD) or all wheels (AWD) depending on the configuration.

The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse is also one of the safest vehicles in its class and comes with front airbags, side airbags for the front seat, and side curtain airbags that help protect all three rows of seats as standard.
