Rahimdad
After a long break, what do you think went wrong here? VID-20190912-WA0009.mp4 2 2
Barry
He pulled it at an angle. Always try to pull in a straight line. 3
Gaurav
Find at least 5-10 things that went wrong here. There plenty here in this flip. 2 Let's root for each other & watch each other grow.

shadow79
This could have been well avoided if the had real-time communication 4
treks
I can think of a few issues here- 1) The pull was in the wrong direction 2) The pull was too hard 3) The tow rope was attached to the wrong side of the towed vehicle 4) The towed driver kept his wheels pointing straight ahead- he should have turned into the direction of the pull 3
Popular Post Gaurav
Surprise to see very limited response from our regular offroaders: Pull angle was more than 45 degree of tolerance. Ideally it should be always straight or anything close to the straight with max deviation up to 45 degrees, that too with lot of caution, patience, observation and feedback from different angles. They could have used driver side tow hook of FJC and Pajero to counter the angles to some extent. They could have use the viking rope for elastic soft tug than one big jerk. No radio communication or coordination with guy supervising the tug or filming. No use of 3 beep system, FJC could have used long beep to stop the Pajero (if trained). Both car windows should be rolled down for catching at least those last second scream. FJC tires were not pointing in the direction of tug, causing instant resistance to flip. Over enthusiast Pajero driver, who probably have not enough experience in technical recoveries kept on pulling. Clear the sand wall from driver side tire front side. Clearly it was bogged down to topple like this instantly. People don't use enough shovel as they think pulling will sort everything out. Prep before the pull to clear sand from all resistance is very important and in such critical angles its life saving. Ideally winch is better (if available) in such tricky situation to get slow motion feedback and stop in time. Give such critical tug in several tranches to access the situation first with a feedback from anyone supervising. Once car is moving with slightly gentle tugs without lifting any side, then proceed with little stronger tugs. Recover from backside with half or quarter the rope if front is totally hit in sand. 6 1 5 1 Let's root for each other & watch each other grow. Popular Post Shamil
Here’s the video of the roll over incident I encountered in the intermediate drive that took place on 13th September 2019. So as you may see from the video, to start with, my angle of approach on the dune was wrong and to make things worse, after I crossed the ridge, rather than turning towards gravity(which in this case would have been left) and stabilizing the car, I turned against gravity(to the right) due to which the car rolled over completely and luckily for me and the car, landed on the tires. A rollover that ended either on the side or even worse, upside down, would have been far worse - for me to get out, and the additional trouble involved in recovering the car back to its tires. I hope by sharing this rather unfortunate incident, I could shed some light on the consequences of overlooking certain basic off roading pointers which we could sometimes take for granted. I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the swiftness, expertise and the sheer presence of mind, displayed by the rest of the convoy members such as @G.huz and the carnity senior members @Emmanuel, @Gaurav, @Rahimdad, @Srikumar and last but not least @Asif Hussain without whom, the day would have surely been a lot worse. Thanks to all of their combined efforts, I was safely escorted out to the deflation point, despite some new issues we encountered along the way. I have taken this incident to my stride and in no way has this dampened my spirits. I fully intend on returning to the dunes once my car is repaired.
