Every off-roader must know: What Went Wrong?

Very nice @J J. Well summarized. Safety first. Never try to show that you know more and can do better than the other. Sometimes a stuck is better than a toss like that. Some brainless people try to show that they and their machines are better. Always be patient, we are not in a race. Well done @topgear and @J J. You win this round. Just to add couple of extra things from my side. A bit too fast and soft suspension once the car hit the front wheels to dig in and the momentum just carried the free back over. Never let the back of your car over take the front. Learn to control your car, your emotions and more importantly your ego.

Clearly a very sharp angle on both sides of the ridge to get a lifted Wrangler stuck like that. The exact wrong time to show off. Too fast, poor choice of line.

Love this helpful way to learn @Rahimdad

@Rahimdad, to me it seems like one of the most important things to learn when off-roading, which is when to stop rather then when to continue.... the car stops going forward and slide sideways, stopping at this moment probably would have prevented the rear Tyres digging in causing the flip... besides the angle and speed of attack I guess this is the biggest take-away...

Not safe nor wise. Very dangerous way of approaching the recovery area if he didn't jump and flipped he would have lost control and hit the wrangler.

He didn't evaluate the recovery area nor took time to think of the best recovery angle or dune side he just chosen to speed up as if he reached faster he would have got a prize.

Three things were wrong

- too much speed

- wrong approach angle

- he should ride the Crest for some distance and cross rather than jump over.

Additionally , probably the sand was softer on the other side of the Crest.

Got another one ...different terrain though

Wrong to turn reversing back , should have gone back straight.

Probably from the revving,  he was trying to climb some stones reversing. Cant see the terrain from the video though.
