RTA and Dubai Police Launches a new Rapid Response Team

Recommended Posts

Road accidents are increasing every day in Dubai and this leads to traffic congestion in the whole city. To tackle this problem, RTA and the Dubai Police have collaborated to introduce a new Traffic Incidents Management (TIM) system.

The Traffic Incident Management system was launched officially on 16th September 2018 and was inaugurated by key figures of both Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police. Special breakdown vehicles were also seen to be deployed at different locations on the Mohammad Bin Zayed Road.

Special breakdown response vehicles will be positioned every 30 kilometers on the national expressway road which is approximately 70 kilometers long and connects Dubai with Abu Dhabi as well as Sharjah. These vehicles will be well equipped with latest technologies and communication devices to clear up the accident site quickly and assist the drivers to a safe place.

The TIM system is expected to reduce traffic delays by up to 35 percent by removing the vehicles involved in an accident and restoring the traffic flow ASAP.

This effort by RTA and Dubai Police deserves an applaud as it will definitely improve the traffic situation in the city and ensure the safety of every driver. Do share your opinion about this new initiative and tell us how beneficial it will be for UAE drivers.

It's not rapid accident response teams that's needed, it's more patrols to catch people on their phones and people switching lanes with no indicators. Kill the cause, not treat the symptom. Would also be nice to see anyone with an unbuckled child in the car banned from driving for 12 months.

After few newbie and intermediate drives, now it's time for fewbie drivers to roll up their sleeves to test their skills in the sand of Lisaili, Dubai. Lisaili is famous for its white sand, that means it's difficult to read and plus lisaili has lot of technical dunes to bump the challenge few notches high. It is a perfect place to test your maneuvering skills and speed control with lot of tolerance. If time permits we might end up the drive towards Qudra or Solar park area for tasting some medium rolling dunes for ridge riding, side sloping and testing your offroad skills further.

Meeting time: 05:00 AM, the convoy will move sharply at 05:15 AM

As the weather begin to change for good, this might be the last night drive to enjoy this year, as now in night weather has become very pleasant with cool breeze. Time to enjoy chilled out desert drive in our much loved Mahafiz sandbox till the morning. If time permit and convoy response are favorable, we might continue play in morning at monster dunes after fossil rock area, if not we will end and exit.
This area offers a great mix of playable dunes and medium dunes to test your night driving skills. Depending on convoy strength and liking will plan the route to fit everyone's taste and capabilities.
Offroad lights are recommended for a night drive, but if you don't have you can still safely drive with your HIGH BEAM.
