Infiniti meaning

Recommended Posts

It is originating from the Latin "Infinity".  The meaning is described below:

INFINITI is a luxury Japanese car manufacturer that launched in 1990. Its car symbol stands out for its sleek design that is stylish and trendy. The name of the car company was chosen in 1987, and the logo symbolizes the name of the brand. The badge is designed with two lines that lead up to a horizon. It is even known to pay homage to Mount Fuji, which is Japan's famous peak.

It can also be described as an upside down V and looks similar to a mountain or a road. The horizon is sentimental because the car brand aspires to new horizons in the automotive industry. Some representatives from the company have also described it as traveling on the open road toward infinity. The senior manager at INFINITI USA communications, Kyle W. Bazemore states, " "The INFINITI logo represents the meaning behind the 'total ownership experience' between our owners and our cars, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. ...From the moment a customer hears about us, to when they might visit one of our retailers, then to the purchase process, driving the car, taking it back for maintenance, to the next time the customer needs a new vehicle, we want that experience to be never-ending, to 'INFINITI.' And in driving the car, we want the driver to feel like they want to take it on a never-ending road, an infinite road."

INFINITI's symbol was inspired by a lemniscate that dates back to the start of human civilization and has commonly been used by mathematicians. The metallic silver coloring of the logo is meant to appear modern and contemporary, which represents the cutting edge cars that continue to be released by INFINITI. Although Nissan is the parent company of INFINITI, the silver detailing symbolizes elegance and embraces the high-end design of each automobile.

The logo is unique among other automakers because the name of the brand is not included in the symbol, which allows it to look regal and minimal. Although some would assume that the car brand would choose to use the standard infinity 8 symbol for their logo, they may have wanted to avoid possible confusion with other brands that use the same symbol to represent their company.

Nissan created Infiniti to compete with international luxury brands like Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. After a thorough research from horizon task force back in 1985-87, they have come up with Infiniti name with four I's, which suggested the limitless international potential of this luxury Japanese automaker.

In actual sense Infiniti means same as Infinity - endless / limitless but tweak with four I's caused a distinct and disruptive identity to create the curiosity.
