@edouard I don't think steering pump failure is a common problem in Pajero. So that would indicate that your chances of getting a used pump in decent condition should be good.

Jeez Pajero parts seem to be on fire! Get a used one preferably if you can get one one from a Japanese half cut. 

My Discovery pissed out all its steering just as I pulled into the RTA right in front of the seller, Needless to say I would have it fixed and ready in a few hours the guy didn't buy it. Anyway I bought a used one for 150 and fixed it my garage. Lasted for many many years with the new owner. Till the last time I bumped into him anyways.

For all ultra expensive parts above 3K price, better to bet on used parts as even if you get half life with 1/10 or 1/20 of price, still make better sense.

Not everything used is good or gonna last I have seen people expect to buy seals , gaskits break pads pipes also used... service items should be bought new or even aftermarket
