Intermediate Morning Drive - Big Red - 26 April 2019

Big Red area have some nice medium and big size dunes that provide plenty of opportunity for the Intermediate level drivers for a fast paced dune bashing session. We shall start at Big red and shall trace our path along some nice rolling dunes all the way to Pink Rock. There would be a lot of side slopping, ridge riding and ridge cutting involved. This drive would proceed upon minimum 4 cars registering for the drive by Thursday (April 25, 2019) morning.  

When: 26 April 2019

Meeting time: 6:30 AM, the convoy will move at sharp 6:45 AM

Where: Big Red

Level: Intermediate and above (Min 4 cars need to be registered by Thursday, 25 April 2019, morning)

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance.

Plan: Drive, train and enjoy till about 11:00 AM

What to bring along: Snacks, Breakfast - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Approximate finish time: 11:00 AM

I registered for the Newbie drive on the same day, to support @Rahimdad. Now I’m trying to find a way to drive 2 cars at the same time so I can also join this one.

@amir.rophail welcome back. Hope you have sorted out your rear recovery points.

Since its expected to be a short convoy, its important that every vehicle should have a proper industrial shovel, and recovery ropes (soft shackles are preferred).

@Srikumar Yes iI got the AOR snatch strap as recommended and my towing points are are set! :)

Did’t get the soft shackles yet but the ones I have are rated. If i get a chance to pass by before the drive and get them I will for sure.

      We are proud to announce yet another big milestone in Carnity Offroad Club, to train, develop and now certify off-roaders once they attain a certain level of skills. This certification will help all off-roaders in attaining a right set of skills as their drive count grows so that they can focus on a specific area of development and work towards better learning along with weekly drives.
      Following the Carnity Offroad Club Grading Structure, once any off-roader crosses the Intermediate level and gets promoted to Advance level, he/she will receive their digital certificate with announcement and copy of their certificate will be posted here in chronological order.
      Hi-resolution print-quality certificate will be email to them after the announcement is made.
      Here are the key skills that we have identified as criteria for getting certified.

      Two Way Radio Guidelines
      Every Offroader brings his own radio, programmed to the frequencies described in below advice topic. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out.  Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. It is an essential tool and you should make sure you bring it on every drive and learn/practice how to use it.

      If you have already driven in sand before then you can learn more from experts having decades of offroading experience in the UAE. This area offers a good mix of playable long set of dunes and broad ridge to test your off-road control.
      Drive is open for all 4x4/4WD/SUV/AWD vehicle having 8-10 inches of ground clearance and front and rear tow hooks.
      You can bring your family, friends and kids, but if you are absolute new to sand offroading it is better to drive alone first to learn offroading without any distractions.
