I have been checked with some Pajero owner friends who used this chip for more than 1 year, all of them was happy and there is no issue on the engine and lot of more hp on road and off road, but anyone wants to install is on their responsibility 🏁:)

Have you tried this hack in your pajero?

forgive my ignorance, how gear hacking can add hp?

Will not recommend the hack. In the desert it's not always about the up but torque as well, and if the gear does not hold in first and shifts to second you loose that torque and continuous power. That break in shifting causes momentum loss. So it's not about how much to you can use, but how it's supplied and how well you can use it. Hope this clears your confusion.

I did the unichip upgrade on the 2014 3.8 pajero this week on Sunday.
Loaded with 5 maps with 5th being the stock OEM.
I could see the difference ( improvement) in fuel efficiency for past 2 days (map 4) with 18%improvement in power output on dyno at full power map.
also it holds 6k rpm on 1st gear...

excited to test it in the dunes!
