It must be on the same platform, brother and sisters sirji.

Finally someone is joining Lexus on big ugly front grill race, still, Lexus wins in that race.

Seems like they have taken off the Good bits off a lot of SUVs and made one for them selves. The front is a little bit of a Cadillac Escalade the rear quarter is a little bit of Range Rover. The center console is a little BMW X5. The instrument cluster with the big wide flat screen is a little bit like the new mercs.

Sorry the new King of Ugly grills are the new BMWs with their new HUGE and ugly kidney grills. So huge they bend over on to the hood. Making them look like a big pig snout.

A lot of companies are doing this now. Do you know the Jeep Renegade is based on the Fiat 500 platform! And the older Jaguars based on Ford Mondeos.

But this is more of a rebadge than platform sharing which of course now Toyota is king of now. The new supra, Rush, 86. Are nothing but a rebadged BMW, Daihatsu and Subaru respectively

      Hello people!
This is Bhaskar here. It's been just about 7 months that I've settled in Dubai and just last week I've got my driver's license! I am sure you'd be able to relate to the excitement I am having in wanting to get my first car in Dubai!  Joined the Carnity forum just a few hours back and thought would be good to get multiple perspectives here!
So I am quite a bit of 'want it all' types but after some deliberation have made the list of my criteria -
A compact crossover / 4X4, I am not a hardcore off-road enthusiast but my wife & I like going for hikes, try some new stuff.  Good infotainment + interior tech + sunroof, like to enjoy the drives!   Given that most of my driving would be home to office, a good on-road drive. Some peace of mind - not too old, decent FE, cheap to service, in-warranty, reliability and all that.  With this, now I am somewhat all over the place and these are the cars I am considering based on the used cars available on multiple platforms -
Kia Sportage AWD GT Line (2018), Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk / Limited (2018 / 19), Jeep Compass Limited (2019). Was considering Honda CRV as well but drove a Honda (Civic) for the past 3 years so just want a change of brand. And yeah, my budget is around 85K tops.
After all this context setting, here are some questions that I have:
What's your take on the cars I am considering?   What other cars do you think I should consider?  Have heard Jeep servicing and parts are quite expensive, specially with AF Trading Enterprises. How true is this? Any first hand experiences?  Are Cherokee & Compass good on-road?  Look forward to the responses!
      Thanks in advance!

      Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a good mechanic or service center who can solve a number of issues with my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. I live in Abu Dhabi so something in Mussafah would be good, Dubai is okay too as long as the issues can be fixed properly. Not a fan of Juma Al Majid for a number of reasons their long wait times and ridiculous customer service being the main reasons.
A quick list of the main issues that need to be addressed:
AC compressor has become weak, needs replacement Recently replaced shock absorbers (<10,000 km), car rides lower than normal ever since, feels bouncy on mildly uneven roads and bit unstable around corners. Humming sound when going around roundabouts, braking, slowing down and during gradual acceleration. I suspect wheel alignment. Car jerks when putting the car into D or R from Park. Feels like the clutch is not properly engaged. Initial acceleration feels sluggish for the past 10,000 km. Sunroof motor requires replacement. Noisy door closing sounds of both front doors. Both rear door hinges need replacement. Some small electrical issues, requires some fuse replacements. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.
      Cheers,
      Fayad
