Shifting issue from 1 to 2

When people say that flushing older stuff isn’t good, what they really mean is the transmission is already banjaxed and all the dirt and gunk is blocking leaks and hiding noises which would otherwise not be noticeable. A transmission doesn’t get used to an oil. It’s a specialised piece of equipment built to high tolerances. It needs a proper flow of clean oil to work properly. Better to flush it and fix it properly instead of hiding and ignoring problems.

^^^^ That, when a really high mileage already riddled with gunk and on it way out tranny you put in new clean fresh oil it might lead to shift shock. 

If you don't attack this issue now, then its only going to get worse from here.

And its a sheep! What were you expecting it wont burn a hole in your wallet! Lol

So a fluid flush is the cheapest way right now to try the remedy the issue.

Recently we changed atf oil and 2 filters on a Jeep 4.7 grand it was working good after the oil change smooth shifts then I gave the car to customer then drove the car to Sharjah next day it was fine till he decided to return back it started to jump like a stallion and reached home like that after pulling the codes and checking the car we decided that the gearbox has gone cucu we had to put engine and gear together because the engine also was drinking some water...

After reading forums and websites i guess i know what is wrong. I hope i am right about it. 

When i write about my problem to Jeep facebook pages they asked me if my cruise control working and it was working till yesterday night. Yesterday while i am coming back from drive my cruise control was working at the begining than it stop working. 

Here is the theory. There are 2 sensors on transmission. One inlet and one outlet. They known as speed sensors. When i made my transmission over heat, heat damage the sensors and they start not reading correctly. These sensors telling the gearbox to shift or not shift. Since they are failed transmisson dont know is it need to shift or no. Thats why it is keep going between 1 and 2. Also the same sensors being used by cruise control. Since sensors are not good cruise control is not working. 

Tomorrow i will replace oil, filter and sensors than we will see. I read from forums many people solve their similar cases with this.

Ok if anyone wondering what happened. I bought oil, filter and sensor. When we start working Jalil found out there are leaks on transfercase seals and leak between gearbox and transfercase. 

We decide to not open the pan until i get the needed seals for solving the leaks. But we change the sensor. Currently i can say there is %80 improvment on situation. Most of the time it is shifting very nicely and even if does it it is much better than before. 

Cruise control issue not solved with sensor. It gives P1595 code which is speed control selenoid circuts. There are way to test it online. I will see what to do. But i am thinking when we drop to pan it is better to chage the governor pressuare sensor  and governor pressuare selenoid, if i can get it here available(I would like to hear from our mechanic members ideas about changing this 2)

In UAE people like changing things complitely. In America people going inside and looking what causing the issue. I think my case here will be a sample for people who has Jeeps to solve their gearbox issue without changing the gearbox.

The problem here is there are very few mechanics. I could probably count the decent mechanics I know on one hand. Most of the “mechanics” here are low paid labourers who have never even opened a book. I’ve lost count of the number of people I’ve hired and fired this year already. People come and tell you they have been doing the job for 10 years, but when it comes down to it, they recommend changing a whole assembly at 5,000 dhs rather than change a 10 dhs bearing because they’re just not educated and have no interest in learning anything technical. To be honest, if I was earning 2-3k per month I probably wouldn’t be all that interested either. And the problem is only compounded by cheap bastards always searching for the lowest price rather than getting a quality job, even if it means getting an engine held  together with silicon and shellac.

This is not only the mechanics to blame. This is market here like this. Whatever you pay you will get that. For the money i am paying no one is going to sit on computer and make research for me for hours. So i am trying to do it myself. Even if people trying to be better, making research, trying to make diagnosis for every small item who is going to pay for it in this country or lets says for these beater cheap cars. 

For cars like you are dealing currently, case is totally different.

I would not start replacing solenoids just yet. P1595 means that there are issues present in one or more circuits (as opposed to failing solenoids). However, finding this issue is PITA on Jeeps and many Chrysler products, since it involves testing the brake light circuit, and dedicated circuits between the solenoids and the PCM. To do this you need Jeep/Chrysler specific scan tool that has the ability to activate each suspect solenoid individually.

If @Barry has the time, I suggest you have him do this, or if he does not have the time, to take the vehicle to the dealer. These circuits have to be tested in a particular order of steps, and if you get this order wrong, you can spend days looking for the fault and never find it. Good luck!
