New Nissan Patrol 2020

From which angle this Nissan Patrol Y62 seems stock to you with metal bumpers, crazy approach and departure angles, big profile tires and whats not under the hood to keep a pace in life and death matter for Police duties.

That's how you need to sell 1.8 million dirham V12 beast.

For your test Cayenne, it must be fully tuned for you to push like that.

I had Cayenne Turbo for 2 years and tried offroad 4 times and it never hit the required RPM band nor turbo kicked in right time. I have never seen any other Cayenne too in the desert in last 13 years of offroading in UAE.

What companies market and what they sell are two different stuff.

You didn't read what I wrote. I said with a little mods. Some bumper mods, slight lift. Wheels are just beadlock rims. Something most serious offroaders do their cars anyways. You probably have more mods on your Pajero than this. And you forget it also comes from the factory with a 400hp V8. Although the 6 is also not bad at all.

As for the Cayennes were all bone stock half of them turbos and half of them regular S ones. Nothing modified we didn't even drop to 15osi and kept them at 20psi to totally avoid popouts and not waste time and they all drove beautifully. Just had to be careful with the front bumper as that was fragile and in the beginning one or two of them got dislodged and a whole chunk of wiring fell out from them! But after the first week everybody got used to them. We took them to the desert 3 time a week for 3 months each year for 2 consecutive years.

I'm sorry to say if you were having trouble with it either was something wrong with your car or no offense intended you simply not used to driving modern SUVs off-road and more at home with basic old skool stuff like your older gen Pajero.

I know, just saying that you are perfectly home with the Pajero but were struggling with a 400hp turbo charged vehicle offroad.

Whole point is if you have money shooting out of your ass and you'd like to take these things off road and bash them you can if you choose to if you can afford the expensive repairs if anything goes wrong or you break something.

Another example.

I've driven a Range Rover Sport Super Charged in Wagan, went beautifully everywhere but I hated it! Because just like on road it is very quiet and smooth off road too and you just waft along on the dunes. You get bored after a while. Then we found a big smooth dune and decided to see how far it would climb up.

You felt like it wasn't climbing too high before coming to a stop, but coming down and looking at the tracks. It went pretty high up, you just didn't feel it was going that high up, because once again it was a very boring affair.

😋 From where you start and where you end is whole different level of Desert Edition or LC Extreme stuff.

They are MADE FOR desert. Period. And that's why Nissan only made 200 of these desert edition in Dubai.

Btw, you should really see what Rav4 doing with us on big rolling dunes. I hope you get this as an offroader.

my two cents is if you are determined then you could take a handicapped blind donkey up a dune and it will climb up and if you are faint of heart then a legendary and prestigious horse will also not lend you a shoulder...remember only 20% is your ride rest 80% is how a driver inputs his ability and quick thinking into play....

Regular bumpers, no lift, Two skid plates, king shocks, beadlock wheels and two badges with MBS signature on it make it "made for desert" !!!

RAV4 is a decent offroader, only negative it has is lack of full-time 4wd n low range box. Immensely popular with the shabab out in Rak specially the 2dr. it's light and nimble across the sand. Would have benefitted immensely from a v6 but no joy on that side.

But it's good for you that you polish your skills on it, once you've mastered it you will really kick some ass if you ever move up to a proper 4x4 with more grunt.
