We have a lot of Xterra users in our team. We don`t have a thread putting together all the must modifications for Xterra. Lets discuss them here to have these documented all together under one thread.

- Skid plate

Since the radiator is sitting too low at Xterra this is one of the must to do modification to protect your car. What to be careful is to have one with radiator brackets.

- Towing Points

Many people are mentioning original towing points are not strong enough. Is anyone done this modification can explain what to do what to be careful? Is front and back both needs to be changed? Last leaders lead my back towing point bent a bit and touched to the bumper. I am willing to change it with something heavy duty.

- Kill Switch

I personally don't have one. I am just closing the traction control button when i start off roading and i haven`t had any issues so far. Many says this is essential, why? I haven`t had any difficulties so far.

Please advise from where i can buy and fix the skid plate for my X Terra.

quick response will be highly appriciated.

Congratulations @ZULFIKHAR NAIYAR for finally finding your offroad vehicle

The first step you need check  /replace all fluids / lubes .

the next step get your bash plate fixed

initially you can check the engine/gear mounts and if in good condition no need to replace them right now .

Look at the tires if it’s validity more than half way probably better to change them to A/T high profile tires once good for all fir the next two years average daily driving and weekly off road

regarding specific garages I am afraid we are not promoting anything like that in here and any decent reputable garage can do the job for Xterra

Cheers

Hi All,

Very useful post. Could see all the Xterra gang is on this thread..

I finally ended up getting an XTerra 2014 OR version recently. With all the above mods being suggested, can you also please suggest which garages specialize in Xterra modifications or checks.

I'm sifting through some of the old threads to gain more info on this. The one I bought does have a squeaking sound and I'm not sure if I need to get the shocks replaced.

Also, read in some thread by @Foxtrot Oscar that engine and gear mounts need to be checked for used Xterra's - good pointer, thanks.

Is there any garage/specialist in Dubai where I could get things checked out as well as eventually getting the required mods mentioned here?

Thanks in advance..

Thank you again  @sertac@M.Seidam@Rizwanm2@Zixuan Huang - Charlie for all your recent feedbacks :)

Congratulations with your ride ! Sure you will  love it !

Hey, and welcome to the club. I love my X. There's plenty of garages that are Nissan friendly , one man's specialist is another man's cowboy  so....

I'd find a good / trustworthy garage (recommendations) and have them do a full diagnostic on it for you, they'll let you know what needs done. When I first bought mine I needed to replace the engine mounts and the spark plugs.

Next up the the skid plate, make sure you get one that protects the radiator , and then get Yoko Geo A/Ts.

That's all you need for your X. Others add new suspension and have it lifted etc. I've never bothered with any of that and I can do anything in the sand that a modified X can.

congratulations and welcome to Xterra gang,   @ZULFIKHAR NAIYAR.

very good choice  2014 offroad version means you are unstoppable from now on.. 😁

im afraid we are not allowed to mention specific garages here. as @M.Seidam any popular off road garage would do.

if you join Xterra mafia UAE facebook or watsapp  group you will get more info.

Congrats! @ZULFIKHAR NAIYAR you definitely can go anywhere with Xterra offroad.

Cant give you names but can tell you that front skid plate should cost around 1-1.3 k for 8-10mm thickness with radiator guard. and then you are ready to bash the dunes !
