COVID19 compliant - Saturday Afternoon Intermediate Desert drive - Faqa Loop 'The Less Travelled Side of Faqa - Dubai - 01 May 2021

Drive Brief

Faqa is without doubt one of the most scenic areas that we can venture off road. It has everything, stunning dunes, beautiful greenery and of course, sands as far as the eye can see. But don’t pay too much attention to that as this area also has difficult terrain that will test your off-road skills.

We will start at the usual spot and head into the fabulous long and high dunes following the familiar route. There will be plenty of opportunities to side slope, criss cross and climb our way through until we reach the Sabka. Normally a Carnity convoy will head towards Solar Park however,  this is where we will change direction. The less travelled route heads towards the Abu Dhabi border where we will find the most spectacular practically virgin sands, with razor sharp, long range dunes  that scream out for us to bash them down with our skid plates as we ride atop of them. We will continue along these dunes heading in the direction of Faqa which will eventually lead us back to  the road, via an underpass, which ensures we never cross the border.

Are you with me? Yalla!

I aim to finish by 7pm, If you are fasting Iftar should be around 6.52pm (bring a  snack and water to break your fast) and Ishar prayer at 8.11pm

This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely.

Hi Angela

I am returning after a while , writing this from Cairo... hope to catch the drive keep up the pace.See you soon .

Cheers Probir

Hi @Probir Mukherjee, nice to have you back! As much as I would love to have you accompany me on this drive, it would be remiss of me not to advise you to do a Fewbie or Fewbie+ drive as your first drive back after such a long spell away from the sand .

You’d be surprised by just how ‘rusty’ we get when we’ve not been in the sand for a while. It’s better and safer for you to find your desert wheels first before attempting an IM drive . I’m sure you understand that my main priority here is your safety .

There’s a few Fewbie drives to choose from on Friday morning. If none of these are suitable then I’m sure there will be a weekday Fewbie drive posted at some point too.

Hi - please can I go on the waitlist for this drive?

Hi @Will Seivewright as a new member to Carnity everyone starts with Absolute Newbie drive, which gets posted on every Saturday and notification will be sent out on Sunday.

If you have previous off-road experience, then you can transfer the same to carnity by following below link.

Also have a look at Carnity offroad structure put in place for better clarity and transparency for all offroaders.
