@Chaitanya Dhaha. The new gen Pathfinder is more like a “Mall-Finder” 🤦‍♂️
I just ordered the Flag and Suction Cup from Ace. Will pick it up tomorrow on my way back.

Will try and manage to get the rest of the stuff.
Keep you posted.

See you all on Friday.

Cheers.

Dear @Chaitanya D

I have a Nissan Pathfinder R51 2008 SE model with 2" Lift Kit. I have been off-roading but I am not a Professional.

Front and Rear Tow Hooks are Stock. If needed I could Get Two D-Ring Shackles.

I Agree to Covid Precautions.

I do not have the Deflator Kit, Compressor, Flag and Walkie Talkie. I intend to Purchase it tomorrow from Dragon Mart.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Finally seeing another R51! !!!

BTW don't get D shackles as they might get broken during tugging and hit your car and cause severe damage.

Get rated soft shackles if you really need shackles. But definitely not from dragon mart

Complete newbie. I bought my 95 Jeep Wrangler a week ago and i'm still working out/remembering how stuff works and tbh i'm a little bit afraid to drive for fear of damaging it but i think it looks great in the car port.

i have a compressor/deflator but no flag or radio. I have the clearance, the tow bars;  I've totally agreed to the COVID post; and i'll also put my hands up to being mechanically challenged.

Thanks @Neil Jarman and welcome to Carnity.

Please get acquainted with the gears - 4high and 4 low, just wondering if it is manual or automatic? and make sure the car is desert ready, all fluids and radiators checked thoroughly.  It is blazing hot out there and hence u need to be sure.

Thank you @Chaitanya D. It is manual (the previous owner converted it from automatic) and i know that gear lever although i've not used it very much (see previous comment about fear of damages) and I haven't driven the car much either. I'm happy to be guided by you as to whether it's better to get a bit more driving time under my belt before coming along to one of these events?

As far as i know everything is in tip top condition as the car was prepped for its RTA inspection and probably more helpfully went in for checks at an off road specialist garage.

That should be good as of now but as you know the real test for any car will be out there on the sands . Once you arrive at the starting point either myself or one of the seniors will check .

Thanks for your prompt response buddy.

Wrangler YJ are very good and reliable off-roader. If you have got it checked with off-road specialist garage then its absolutely fine to join this Absolute Newbie drive. In fact this AN drive is perfect as you wouldn't need to push car too much on AN but as you progress more you will be extracting every inch of HP from your YJ.

Just keep a constant eye on heat gauge needle, if it move upward then switch off aircon and drive.
