munkybizness
Taking a moment to truly appreciate the phenomenal leadership and resilience that @Lorenzo Candelpergher & @Veedooshee (under the guidance of @Wrangeld) have imparted to the entire convoy this morning. It was a challenging day with lots of recoveries but seeing Veedooshee's Pajero and Lorenzo's Rubi running back & forth every time truly showcases why Carnity's drives teach so much more than just how to drive. And at every site, they were in there digging away with shovels. I tip my proverbial hat to all three of you for showing us how to never give up, and demonstrating exactly the kind of elbow grease that goes into becoming as valuable to the convoy, as you were. I have so much learn from all of you. 2 1
S Jacob
Really exciting and challenging drive today, stretching the limits… helps gear up for the next level… lots of learning: how the convoy is managed, driving through the track, as well as observing the recoveries… hats off to @Veedooshee, @Lorenzo Candelpergher & @Wrangeld Looking forward to the next drive…. 2
Popular Post Wrangeld
Post Drive Report It's gratifying when the report given by experienced drivers having seen our convoy was 'you were covering some challenging dune ranges' today. I did not need that as validation of the great drive we had today because the best validation for me as a lead is when there is radio silence. Why? It means that the level of the drive is what it needs to be. Not too many people getting stuck, not a lot of chatter because drivers are bored. We face all different types of drives in our deserts. Some have amazing play areas where it's possible to conquer an ascent, others are navigated within swooping tight valleys and some punctuated by short sharp technical dunes. When I planned this drive, we would use the Murquab dunes to let the drivers experience dune ranges that are not high, but have side slopes, faster paced exchanges from one side of a dune bowl to the other, smaller complicated dunes where driving along the top is a necessity and height that allows you unparalleled views. But let's not dwell on this, because today was a little different. For some of you, relatively new to this game, it probably felt like there were a lot of refusals and stops today. But I disagree. With a convoy of 15 cars the regularity of stops was not unusual. It can be less and I guarantee it can be a lot lot more. We were doing well, and then @Adam James car simply died. Here's the thing. We are not mechanics, but we will try our best to sort out a problem on the route of we can (or in the case of @Ramandbx before we leave), we are also not AAA, but if we can when one of our convoy has problems we will do what we can to get them out of the desert. This turns our recreational drive into a recovery drive. Recovery drives, by their nature are less adrenalin filled. The objective changes from fun and thrills to getting driver and vehicle recovered. We did a good job in this and thansk to @Alex Hollands for waiting till the car was recovered, so Adam was not sitting in the blazing sun while waiting. So what next? An intense hour of driving, adding new challenges as we went, including the first 'criss-cross' that many of the drivers had ever done. During the last hour we practiced skills that will be invaluable in your 4x4 career. The stucks were fewer and the concentration was high. Yes, we had to solve the Yoga Pose stuck of the Ranger - but apart from that it was a wonderful hour to lead in some dunes that I do not normally explore because we are normally heading for a longer 'less local' drive. Amazingly with all that, we covered almost 40km and the skills learned on a drive like this will equip you all for the challenges to come. Thanks to the incredible efforts of @Lorenzo Candelpergher and @Veedooshee this was a fantastically well managed drive. No drama, no hassle and a lot of amazing support. No specific call outs today in terms of learning, because of the change in plan - save for another hat's off to @FARAZ MOHAMMED you drove an impeccable 2nd lead today. Really impressed with how you handled yourself. It was nice to meet so many new faces today, and I am looking forward to seeing you all in the sand again soon. 6 1 2

Damien Ranjit
Really an eventful day and lots of fun as promised by @Wrangeld. The second phase was a lot more fun as it was a fast tracked section and hence could feel the shift of pace. It was a totally different desert experience. Wonderfull support by @Veedooshee and @Lorenzo Candelpergher Especially in towing a dead car out of the desert. Really happy to see the leadership and to see that @Carnity no-one is left behind.
