Hi, I am absolutely brand new to this - no prior experience whatsoever. I have a Dodge Ram Rebel+ 2021. Looking forward to learning some stuff, and hopefully doing this more often in future! From what I can tell, very little is required in the way of purchases for the first drive? Is it supplied? Or should I hustle to the store and pick up the essentials? thanks!

Welcome to Carnity of-road club. And congrats on the new Ram Rebel, indeed a very capable pickup truck and a good choice you've made. Please make sure that your Ram has a minimum of 8 inches of ground clearance along with front and rear tow point or tow hooks, as few Ram with sport bumper lacks both of the above mandatory requirements.

From off-road gear requirements, you need to have a tire pressure gauge, deflator and compressor as a minimum. For your first drive walkie talkie (radio) will be provided to you by trip lead. From the second drive onward you will need all off-road gears mentioned as per offroad structure at different ranks.

Ok, so I have two front tow hooks, and the 8 inch clearance. However, at the rear I dont have dedicated tow hooks. I have the tow hitch, which has two holes in it which look like they are designed to take a shackle or similar. What would you suggest?

thanks
