Morning Intermediate Desert Drive - Al Quaa - Abu Dhabi - 29 Jan 2022

Plan is to touch all good playable dunes, bowls and ridges of Al Quaa Desert.

No extra fuel or overnight camping needed to be keep cars light and safe. Drive should last for 4-5 hours with a lunch break at noon and plan to exit by 2:00 PM (keep an extra hour buffer), so we all can drive back home - same day - safely.

This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely.

Drive Details

Level: Intermediate Plus (With minimum 5 IM drives experience)

When:  29 Jan 2022, Saturday

Meeting time: 8:00 AM  (SHARP - Without any exceptions).

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Approximate finish time: 2:00 - 3:00 PM

THIS IS A COMPRESSOR ONLY DRIVE. WE WILL END THE DRIVE AT A POINT WHICH IS NOT CLOSE TO AN AIR LINE. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMPRESSOR, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS DRIVE. IF YOU ARRIVE AND HAVE NO COMPRESSOR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN THE DRIVE

  • If the RSVP is full and you wish to join, please mention your name on the drive thread to add on the waiting list. 
• Latecomers will be returned back - without ANY EXCEPTIONS.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - without ANY EXCEPTIONS.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

Dont get too excited Zed. We don't need a Landcruiser Bowl in addition to the Pajero Bowl.

I've learned some things since then, mainly not to drive the Y62 in these kinds of terrains 😂

Hi Thomas @Thomas Varghese its mentioned as IM+ drive and to qualify need 5 IM drives under your belt. I did nt realise that from the Whatsapp post.🙄

This is not a new category, but trip lead can always decide if they can accept new IM or only experienced one with certain number of drives.

Seems like there is a bowl named after each car failed to cross and hence left to rot there …… my pajero is nervous now 😬….. is there any xterra bowl 🤐 just asking
