This was a really enjoyable drive, thank you @JeromeFJ, and thank you for expertly selecting such a track now that the sand is extra soft in the heat. Remarkable to have so few refusals/stucks. Thank you also for loaning your tools so I could remove my errant mud guard, and thank you to you and @Shaaz Sha for coaching me on that steep soft climb. Unfortunately the combination of a 2.7 L Prado, the soft/steep /cross track conditions, and my lower skillset meant I couldn't make it, but I will remember these tips for future use. Looking forward to seeing you all again!
