Dear Desertnauts,

a quick update on tomorrow's drive.

Please note the update meeting point, at Tawi Nazwa. Please try to reach a bit earlier than 2:30, so we may use up as much sunlight as possible (sunset scheduled at 6:09, with dark arriving at 6:32).

The convoy order is as follows:

@Senthil Kumar in Second Lead

@Ashutosh Garg in #3

@Imran Kashif #4

@Fabien Monleau at the Center

@Sunil Mathew at #6

@DP1011 , Deepak wrangler #7, and

@Waqas Parvez in Sweep.

Radio channel to be picked tomorrow before starting.

As usual, in the case of my drives, not much to roam around a limited area, but rather a relatively long-range drive, shooting almost straight toward Big Red (2 sets of star-shaped dunes there), then across the highway into Badayer, and the several pyramids strung along from Badayer all the way to Bezhad Ranch (no fixed exit point has been planned yet).

See you all tomorrow.

  • Ale Vallecchi changed the title to Afternoon Fewbie Plus Desert Drive - Star Trek Beyond (Tawi Nazwa to Ghost Town....or more) - Dubai - 28 Sep 2022

Thank you @Ale Vallecchi for the most exhilarating drive! It was fast faced non-stop action and fun - we drove 65km in the desert - inspite of a pop-out and the usual refusals, stucks  etc!

We rode all the ridges;  the lines through the successive large bowls in the tall dunes were just amazing - pure adrenaline rush. The pace and the lines ensured that we were 100% focussed on the driving which increased the enjoyment!

Eagerly waiting for you next afternoon drive!

We had a good drive today, throughly enjoyed it, didn't stop very often,  covered as much ground as possible, had a full show,  was treated to a pleasant  experience, and everyone drove safely and efficiently. @Fabien Monleau being CF well instructed to help the convey back in position,  @Gaurav Soni as a sweep today nice to see you again, @Ale Vallecchi as a specialist in ridge riding being good learning experience,

Wonderful mid week drive @Ale Vallecchi, as expected, a long range drive with 68Kms in 3.5 hrs on the stats! with a stopped time of only 32 min including my unfortunate pop out!!

Took me 78 drives to experience a pop out, and didn't recognize that i was having one , kept on suspecting my diff lock not disengaging, until i peeked out of the window :-)

Anyway its a lesson learnt with my changed ride being longer with a heavier rear end, and driving with 9 psi may not be a great idea anymore...will get to the sweet spot soon.

Given the soft sand, and short and steep crossings at many places, we had our share of refusals and couple of tugs, but everyone drove well for the higher and longer climbs

Thanks for the assistance with my pop out @Fabien Monleau, @Waqas Parvez @GauravSoni- and great overall support where required

Good to see you again @Senthil Kumar - you are almost a regular for mid week drives, see you soon

@Ashutosh Garg - we drove together last weekend as well, good to see you again

@Imran Kashif - coming all the way from abu dhabi - appreciate your commitment to this sport, always ready to help with any situation, hope you get your flag back from the car wash guys :-)

and @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler  - nice to drive with you again

Looking forward and coming back for more!!

@Ale VallecchiWhat can I say other than you never cease to amaze me with your knowledge of the terrain and skills you possess, We drove nearly 3.5 hours nonstop and never felt the rhythm of the drive slipping; when you posted the drive crossing Tawi nazwa all the Badayer, I knew it would be an epic one; in fact, we went all the way to shuwaib; it was like doing two drives in a single day😀

This could not have been achieved with the support of rest of the drives,everyone was on their toes and drove expectatioally well @Fabien Monleau @Senthil Kumar @Ashutosh Garg @Imran Kashif @Sunil Mathew and the bad boyz at the end the @Gaurav Soni @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler

See you guyz in the desert untill next time.
