The gear is not shifting to Parking P any one knows why

After i have parked the car i cant change the gear into parking. the gear shifts to reverse D and even second but not into parking. what am i suppose to do to fix this problem?

Thats quiet weird. Im no big fan of Ford edge but better show to mechanic to diagnose the Gear lever mechanism isnt freaky or something wrong with gear solenoid that shifts and changes the gear.

Move a car slightly and then try to engage in P. Second try: switch off car and then try to shift to P. See if it happen at any of these attempt then we can think more on those lines.
