The model years impacted is for 2004 and 2005, affecting over 200,000 automobiles. The problem is with road salts used in specific states, which can cause the rear lower control arms, an essential part of the steering system, to corrode and break. According to Inside Line, Chrysler, is aware of 84 incidents involving the rear lower control arms breaking because of corrosion, but no car accidents or injuries were caused as a result of the defect. The company will start to notify their costumers round the end of April, when the recall is scheduled to begin.
