Recommended Posts

when was the car tune up done ? it can also be a computer problem that the computer sensing not enough fuel so its causing more fuel to be injected into the cylinders. check the entire fuel system and see if there are any leaks.

It could be cause of faulty CKPS (crank sensor), whenever this bugger gets faulty it have starting problems occassionally and more fuel consumption. Get the car service done and ask mechanic to clean Air flow meter with spray cleaner and see if it help. If Air filter is too old, you are better off changimng that too whilke service.

Have you checked if there are any fuel leaks? It might also consume more fuel because of the following:

Low tire pressure

lead foot on accelerator

problem with the oxygen sensor.
