whistling sound from passenger side

Hi fellas!! I just bought a 2013 Sonata. There is a whistling noise from the passenger side vent closest to the door that appears at speeds of 100kph and above when in the MaxAC mode. It is a very high-pitched noise which is very irritating. It goes away when switched out of MaxAC mode or when the speed drops below 100. I think it might have something to do with the outside air being squeezed off. Just want to know if anyone has heard about anything of the sort. Hope it's not something big.

I am also an onner of Hyundia Sonata 2010 model. I too experience the same when the AC is on MAX Mode . There is a pitching sound, But I think there is no need to worry about it.

It normally comes when one of your vents is closed and the pressure on the other vents increases when on MAX Mode. Try opening up all vents if you hear the pitching noise.

Feroz buddy is right. Re-circulating the air is a part of the max AC function right? The flap that cuts off the outside air is probably not closing completely. The guys at Juma al Majid should be able to fix it. Nothing big.

Mine is a 2011 model. It only does that if I have the air flow of more than one vent off. Doesn't bother me a lot since I hardly use the Max A/C mode.

Check the cabin filter to see if it is dirty/blocked. Does it whistle with the fan speed at all levels or only when the blower is at the

highest setting?

Basit - All the vents are open all the time. Even if I close two of them the noise level remains the same.

David - 3 The noise level is the same no matter what the fan speed is.
