Infiniti 2010 accelerating

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

This is something very minor that I noticed recently and since i have never had this problem before with any other car I don't know what can be the issue ... I have a 2010 infiniti and it accelerates even if i do not apply pressure to the accelerating pedal. it goes up to 10-20mph as soon as I set it to the drive gear (without acceleration) ... this might not be a big issue but can it develop into one?

Am I the only one?

Hello there,

There seems to be a problem with your accelerator. i also read somewhere once that it can also be due to the car being cold although i do not agree with this theory. The text provided that in an automatic vehicle which is set to the drive gear the vehicle might move since enough torque exists to cover mass and since it idles at higher rpms. Anyways, if this is not applicable then your accelerator needs to be checked out so better take it in for a look.

hope this helps!

Nopes ... i don't think it has anything to do with the car being cold, although the explanation seems logical ... it's definitely something to do with your accelerator or it could also be a problem with your engine tuning. It's not a major problem so have it checked and hopefully things will fall into place.

tc!
