power stearing went off

i have 2000 LX and it as been a good boy till yesterday when my power steering stopped working last night the reason i have concluded this is because the wheel was suddenly very difficult to move

Also the alternator light went off that is the "red battery" light.

What could have caused it

Put few hanging safety pins towards the pulley side of alternator to check if its alive.

If its fine it will catch free hanging safety pin due to producing magnet. If it doesnt catch safety pin, its alternator is dead. Fix that first and then see if still power steering is hard or not.

Or check you might have power steering leaks. Check the oil.
