meetu
Either check the manual and how old it is accordingly or there is a second way that you will need to open the engine and check the belt by bending the belt if you see cracks then its time to change it. dhokia
timing belt was a very big job for which the mechanic had to open the entire engine.
andit
If car is over 100 thousand kms then its due time to change, or else check engine warning light must be indicating to something else. Get the computer test and it will show the fault code of what is bothering the engine.
shadow79
first and foremost the check engine light only comes if there is a electrical or electronic problem in a car from air filter up to the exhaust there are many sensors which if not responding correctly the engine computer illuminates the engine light and now lets come to the timing belt topic it has a running life from 80k to 100k if you are not sure get it checked at a qualified workshop they can give you a fair estimate of what is the condition of it...
