check enging got my trans stuck

the check engine light came on and the transmission got stuck in the 3rd gear. i am in a panic and clueless as to what should i do now

Remove the battery and re fix after few minutes. if you can shift to neutral its great. Drive the car and go to the mechanic. If not then call a recovery guys and ask them to be gentle. Check engine light needs a technician who have OBD II computer to read the fault code and clear it (if its minor)
