2011 Peugeot 3008

Recommended Posts

The 3008 is all-new for 2010 and represents Peugeot’s attempt to take some of the five-seater crossover SUV market.

Peugeot intends the 3008 to represent a cross between an SUV, an MPV and a hatchback. It features technology such as Dynamic Roll Control fitted to the rear suspension, which aims to stop body roll without affecting the ride with overly stiff suspension.

The focus of the 3008 is very much on the road– despite the high stance, this is no off-roader and doesn’t even have four-wheel drive. Don’t be fooled by the Grip Control, which offers the driver the option of switching between different traction control settings for different terrains – you won’t get far in the sand with power going on to the front wheels.

Said power comes from a 150bhp version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine found across the Peugeot range, attached to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The interior is geared for practicality, with plenty of space and lots of storage for the belongings and paraphernalia that tend to accompany families when they travel.

There is one version on sale (in the UAE), which comes with 17-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, rear parking sensors and electronic stability control, as well as a head up display, auxiliary input socket for MP3 players and Bluetooth phone connectivity. It costs 89,900AED.

The 3008 has picked up a string of awards since its launch in Europe and been praised its style and practicality, as well as for giving a 4×4 feel without the adverse impact on the environment.
