German Car Services (Audi, BMW, Mercedes Workshop) - WARNING

Recommended Posts

here is the story of my personal nightmare with German Car Service (Al Wahda Area)!

To be fair, I have to say that the guy (Georges) knows a lot about cars and is doing a good job on your car, but the service is a real nightmare!

He has a pick up and delivery service. I visited him first in April and got my car back after 2 weeks, which was a long time but nothing compared to the situation now! And in this 2 weeks he was driving my car more than 1.500 km!!! I didn't realized it at first sight, when I got the car back...

I visited him a second time in May because I damaged my bumper. He repaired it really good but this time it took 6 weeks to get my car back. And even that was a hard fight. Everytime when he was telling me that the car is ready "today" I visited him and he sent me away because he didn't finish it. After finally returning the car I saw that he manipulation of the km, but this time the car had less km!? I gave him the car with approx 130.000 km and got it back with 128.000 km! When I asked him about this he only told me that there must be a software mistake... how stupid is that?

Then the last time I visited him in July because my AC was not working and I needed a fast solution. He offered to give me a second hand AC compressor which was the half price of a new AC compressor and I should receive the car back the same day... and I am still waiting for my car today!!! He promised me to give me the car back before Ramadan and every day he had another excuse for beeing not ready. I told him that I will travel for 8 weeks and I really really need the car before July 14th and he promised me bring me the car on July 13th at night. I called him at 9 pm and he told me that he will be at my home in 30 Minutes. After that I didn't hear from him and he shut off his phone...

So, I had to travel for 8 weeks and the car was with him at that time. 2 weeks later I received a SMS from the police that I had a traffic fine on my car. I called him but he didn't answer the phone.

I returned in September to Dubai and called him immediately. He wanted to bring me the car the same day but then he found out that the brakes are not working and he needed to order some parts which takes a few weeks. Because I can't drive without brakes and I couldn't proof that he was wrong, I had to agree.

End of October my car was ready and when he wanted me to bring the car, he found out, that the AC compressor was not working again and he had to change it again... so I waited again. Now that the car was finally ready, I was calling him every day and he promised me to deliver it day for day. But he never showed up. And now he is not answering my phone, so I called him today on my friends phone. And he found another excuse: the brakes are not working again... I am not a car professional but this is rediculous! If I don't have my car back by tomorrow I will call the police...

sorry for the long story, but I am really upset by this attitude... The only problem I have I can't really proof that he is a liar, but I know my car good enough to know that the brakes are completely all right... I know I made the mistake to trust this guy for too long... and by the way, he is using the customer cars to drive around in Dubai. Everytime he visited me he came with another car and told me that's a customer car...

So, it's for you to decide if you want to use his workshop. On the car he is doing a good job but everything else is a nightmare...

Hi individual,

From your post, it seems that they are driving your car around without your consent and are extracting money from you with reports of what apparently sound like fictitious defects in your car. They are basically reporting a fault which is not there, charging you for a job that has not been done and then you say that they are doing a good job on your car.

My friend, I say that they are doing a good job on you and my suggestion to you would be to keep as far away as possible from these guys.

yes, I fully agree... but I have no proof of that because I am not an expert in this, so I can't say for sure that they are charging me illegaly. I can't and I won't accuse anyone as a liar unless I have real proof of it

The good job they had done was with the front bumper. It was cracked on the left side and they fixed it so nobody can see that there was any issue ever with it. But that's all...

all I can say is "lesson learned" and I let all other readers decide if they want to bring their car to this workshop or not...

by the way: this is the adress:

Sorry to hear of your situation. Call the Police now. I went through much the same situation with this person. I read about George on this forum and decided to contact him for a problem I was having with the auxiliary fan in my 750. This problem turned into a problem that George discovered with my drive shaft. While I was never able to determine what shop George actually works at, I did go to "his" shop to meet him after two weeks without my car to see what work was being done. On that day, my car was not there and after waiting for an hour, George was a no show, but he did answer his phone and say he was just around the corner. While waiting for him, I was told he is freelance and takes cars to multiple shops. After 5 weeks of not bringing my car back, not showing up when he said he would return the car, not calling, not answering his phone and when he did, he would tell me he was waiting on parts or that the part he had installed didn't fix the problem. I thought I would never get my car back. It was not until I threatened to contact the police within the next hour, that he finally showed up with my car. My car had scratches on the hood and when I asked for the receipt for parts and labor, George confessed that he had replaced my BMW parts with second hand parts from the junk yard and that was why the problem took so long to resolve. We did a test drive and the problem with the drive shaft seemed resolved, but needless to say, the problem is not fixed and after 5 weeks I have no idea how many BMW issued parts are now junk yard replacement parts in my car. I also received Salik charges because he was driving the car. Of course, according to George, those were test drives. Really ... call the police now.

for some reason i dont give my car to anyone for keeping it such a long time... incase any repairs need to be done i always go to john auto garage in sharjah... must say they are german specialists, knows what they are doing and wont keep cars for too long! i always keep an eye on the repair and will also do a research if these repairs need to be really done. labour charges are not cheap though
