  7. @Per A I have added a 2 inch lift kit from dobinsons. This has transformed the drive and stability. Added a rear bumper protection just to prevent the rear bumper from being ripped off. Alternatively you may just remove the rear bumper before driving and fix it back later.

  14. @Barry sounds like we are having similar problems although we are doing different jobs. People send me an email and in 5 minutes I get a call to check if it's done. You are not the only person sending me requests and if you're unable to get it through the systems and tools provided than I will have to source that thing offline. It won't hapoen in 5 minutes. When sourcing it through suppliers outside UAE be mindful about their working hours and weekend. Looking over my shoulder while I work also pisses me off, gives a sense of mistrust. I can go on and on. But most of the points you mentioned applies to my line of work also.

  19. Every company has started a new trend of having the same face look for all its models Honda has it and now Chevrolet too has adapted to it. Looks futuristic and more of a transformer look. Hopefully will be used in the next transformer movie I guess.

  20. I don’t know how it is for Middle East people but growing up in the western world, John Haynes was something of a guru. Pre internet, the Haynes manuals were one of the most useful sources of information anyone could own. It was the workshop manual before the factory manual was ever available. When you bought a new car, you also bought the Haynes manual. It showed you how to strip down and rebuild your car. Had fault finding diagrams. The Haynes manual saved my ass so many times. Wherever you are now John Haynes, May your God rest your soul and thank you for saving my ass many times. If you don’t know about John Haynes, just google Haynes manual for your car. It will make your life so much easier.

  22. Thanks, everyone for nice words, but actual congratulations goes to you all for liking and encouraging the contribution. However, the real reason to get so many likes is the drive images that get liked by so many users

  30. Would be nice if we could see a picture of the actual part showing the hole on the end instead of a part number. Maybe is is a genuine part, but maybe it’s a NOS (new old stock) old type tappet. It’s easy to tell the difference. The old type tappets have a tiny hole that you can barely poke a piece of wire into, the newer ones have a much bigger hole that you could stick the end of a pen into.

  32. That’s one of my favourite questions. Standard answer - There’s a problem with the capacitor bank in the flip flop diode relay. I better take a look at it so I can recalibrate the resistors because, you know, the ohms are affecting the output voltage.

  34. REALLY.......? Divya / Dhanya selling first copy and not original spare parts......? How do you know that and how we can find out the difference from original vs 1st copy? I have been heavily relying on Divya / Dhanya parts since long, and never knew they also sell fake parts, please explain Two years back, I have bitten from Al Qaswa Auto Spare Parts selling fake parts and reported

  35. Rent a car is a stop gap arrangement maybe for a month or two. With low prices in the second hand car market I would suggest that you look at a smaller sedan preferably Japanese which has clocked less than 200,000 KMS. Get it thoroughly checked and keep some extra money (approx 2 - 3k) to do the immediate maintenance and repair work on it for piece of mind. Also out of personal experience stay away from Nissan and their CVTs. I have had two gear box failures in 4 year old Sentras and am having to change the them even before the EMI on the car was completed. An absolute piece of shit.

  36. Pajero engine noise comes inside the cabin too, if firewall opening under footwell has been left open in past. For isolating the engine noise vs tire noise, find an empty road and drive up to 120 and then shift to neutral to let the rev drops and notice if it was engine roaring noise of 3k rpm bothering you or tires humming noise. If it's tires noise it will still stay in neutral, but if engine noise, then you know you should check the firewall opening in the footwell. Disclaimer: Shifting to N at 120 is not safe and advisable, so do it quickly for 5-10 seconds and in an empty road.
