  1. For me it has to be, Tailgating, the biggest AH thing you can do. 90% of accidents I see here are front to rear collisions. Not being able to drive in a straight line, ie touching the white line, going to the white line on the other side back and forward Texting. Hands free calls I can deal with but if you’re looking at your phone, you’re not looking at the road. No seat belt. If you want to kill yourself go ahead, but your dead body flying round inside the car is going to kill everyone else.

  2. For me it has to be that every car park in Dubai is full of abandoned Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I’m always getting messages from people at home asking how to buy them.

  3. Unfastened kids popping out of windows and sunroof - should have license canceled Drive in fast and move with the flow, when someone gives you a way and not force them to put hard brake. Swerving 3 lanes in one go before exit. Me too, I see that very often and feel sorry for kids

  4. Young children with no seat belts, standing on the front passenger seat or jumping on the rear seats, while the father or the mother is tailgating at high speed. Believe me I saw it. Not only “bad drivers”, also “irresponsible parents”...

  5. 2012 was the year they changed to add a proper Eco button. If your car is late 2012, there will be a button on the dash that says Eco. If it’s early 2012, you’ll have to cycle through the menus with the trip buttons. Read your owners manual. BTW, The Eco light will only be illuminated when you’re driving sensibly. If you drive hard, it will extinguish.

  6. I hate people on signal honking when the other signal is just about to go red. I hate driver busy with their mobile phones swerving over or slowing down below 60 on a 100 road on the overtaking lane. I hate loose children jumping around the car or hanging out of windows with their parents not bothered. I hate people throwing put garbage of cars. I hate parents driving with children in their laps. I hate tailgaters. I hate people driving over the hard shoulders as if it their right. A few times I have tried driving on the edge of the lane to block the cars going over the hard shoulder, but they start flashing and honking as if I'm the idiot. In other words I hate anybody driving on the roads except myself.

  7. It’s on the way. Dead dinosaur fuelled cars will eventually become a novelty and the nouveau rich will be the only people who can afford to buy and run them. The purchasing thing is already happening. Classic cars are hitting mental prices. Soon everyone will be hooked up on computers, and only a few people will understand how a timing light works or how to balance a pair of carburettors. Laugh all you want. Learn about new technologies. But one day the old farts are going to save your ass. I know because I’ve been there and had to retrain

  9. Very true @Barry I've had friends visit UAE and they too ask me the same question.

  10. Auh number plate cars you can expect anything from them ( Nothing personal please just saying what I have seen in my 10 years in UAE) people texting while driving and cruising at their own pace. Changing lanes without using indicators. Flashing even if you drive at the dedicated road speed limit Worst is when you see children popping out the rear windows and parents not even bothered if they are corrected.

  11. People waiting for the very last second and inch of the lane before merging. Crossing six lanes of high speed traffic at the very last second so they don't miss the exit. And worst of all queue jumpers cutting in and idiots letting them in.

  13. Wondering if Pajero has a locker on 4x4 gear lever to stop shifting out/in from HI/LO gearing while a transmission is not in Neutral? It happened with me twice now that accidentally I pulled the 4x4 lever from LO towards High when the transmission was in D and that resulted in loud grrrrr noise and ending up my 4x4 gearing shifted to 4x4 Neutral. That means the car will not move in any direction until external help arrives. In the first instance, with a little fiddling it went in LO gear and allow me to exit to a road, but in second instance I have to open the lever console area to stick on LO gear by pushing hard to exit. Please check and let me know, If such locker exists in your Pajero, that means I need to figure out repairing that gear lever so this won't be repeated again.

  14. For new models you have to push the 4x4 gear handle then change to other position when gear is on D you can change 4x4 gear from 2H to 4H normally but shift to a lower gear from 4H to 4Hlc or 4llc, gear will shift but not engage, we have to put it on N to engage the lower gear

  15. As you know i am on a manual gearbox, but had the same thing twice when being a bit too fast in going from 4LO to 4H without putting the transmission gearbox in N. I don't think that there is a locking system to prevent that. After all there is no physical connection between transmission and transfer gearbox i'd assume.

  16. Nissan Armada, an OK one for 10 and a really good one for under 20k and with a VK 5.4 V8 317hp and weighing 2.4 tons it also falls in the made up scale of good in the Hp/ton at 137

  17. These are also 8 different types of Jacks in the market. Can anyone guess which one of these resemble the 8 different Jacks used in automobiles. Plz note: This post is just for fun sake☺️

  18. Well that made up scale is based on real-life usage of BUYING and USING 4x4 for dune bashing rather than sitting on a laptop like a duck and watching tube and judging 60 - 80 hp/ton - Underpower for dunes - Not own, but driven few times 80 - 100 hp/ton - Borderline OK - 2002 Land Rover Discovery 100 - 120 hp/ton - Acceptable - 2003 - Land Cruiser GXR and 2006 Nissan Patrol 120 - 150 hp/ton - Good - 1999 Mitsubishi Pajero 150 - 200 hp/ton - Very Good - 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer 200 - 250 hp/ton - Excellent - 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Thanks for your valuable input for Armada, I think Expedition also falls in a similar category. Will research both and add them in the list. Off course these numbers are to benchmark performance, but car overall condition really dictates the capability. As I remember buying 5.7 or 5.2 Magnum Jeep Grand Cherokee and spending money to make a project car, but every time I hit the sand in 4x4 gearing it starts heating up. Sold within 3 months.
