  1. I seem to have started "JEEP"ing (Just Empty Every Pocket) with my upgrade of Rubicon Metal Bumper. I went with the original OEM product because of the aesthetics, more than anything. Hope it lasts for sometime now. Apart from the bumper - there was a cost for replacement bracket as well. The parking sensors and the lights on the bumper are now gone, but they wont be missed though.

  2. In Windows 10 this can easily be done by opening the photo, and cliking on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and selecting "Resize" image. Then you will get the following selection screen: If you choose the option "L" you will get a file size of about 500kB which should be fine.

  3. I fixed it 😂 Found out the bumper is slightly bent upwards because of the impact and the 2 bottom clips don’t lock, but it’s fine everything else is locked. Thanks everyone again for the advice and help!

  5. Apologies if it is a repost and if it is the wrong board to post the issue - as it is not car related. I have been uploading pic that my son takes on the drives - but noticed a lot of failed attempts. today I noticed that any file larger than 4 mb was not uploaded. the info says upto 50 mb can be uploaded. is there a file restriction per file? Also noticed the there are restrictions on dimensions, I had some panoramas which I edited in 10x3 ratio which failed to upload. The failed attempts show up in the gallery as blank pics - do they get purged - as I am not able to delete them.

  6. For images from my phone that are too large, I just take a screenshot of the image and upload that. Screenshots are generally not to large.

  8. For smartphone users you can download the app called “image resize” Select the images you want to resize and adjust the pixel amount to 1,800 as you can see below. This reduces the file size from 6MB to 690Kb Some guideline on image sizes for social media. For Carnity photos in the gallery, 1800 x 1200 px is perfect good quality images.

  13. Thanks a lot @Frederic for your revert. I use Lightroom to manage my photo library and for converting the Raw/DNG files to JPEG. Resizing the file size was not my concern - I was unsure if there are any limits on the file size. I will ensure that the attachments are less 3900 KB while exporting that's seems to be the sweet spot for upload. I will not be able to upload the panoramas my son takes which is basically 3 to 4 pics stitched together as there seems to be a restriction on the custom dimensions of the files as well 😐.

  14. Resize images to max Full HD, 1800 x 1200 and upload again. Pics directly from DSLR with enormous size or dimensions usually get stuck due to system restrictions. 50 MB is the limit for whole upload and not per pic size.

  15. Since my newbie I love technical , maybe I inherited this from my father when I was taken by him to the south west of this lovely country many years back , I always believed the mastering of the desert terrain starts from shallow water ( technicals ) once is done then floating over the occasion is mostly piece of cake , but not always as the different heights , terrains , humps , soft and super soft ... etc each require special attention as well. @Abu Muhammad don’t worry bro I am sure your Sequndra would love some shallow water simply because the driver is dedicated to get it out always Nicely 😉 , so all the drivers too along with their own vehicle . me ? Umm well my X is made to be driven tuff but I am a broken hearted and I don’t push it much , but I guess it’s done now it’s time for rough tuff and power to unleash the beast out of it ... off course safely safely and always safely on the @Carnity’s way 😄 I wish I could join you guys on Friday but it’s family trip day and I was allowed for Saturday to stretch my legs😅 best of luck drive safe and wish you pleasant time always! cheers 🙏🏻🚙👍

  16. Dear friends @Yousef Alimadadi @Alexander Alcala @Mohamed Seidam @Mukundan Nair @Tero Vallas waitlist @Kailas and @Anand Nataraj thanks for signing up for this drive. From what it looks we will most likely have a short convoy which is perfect to explore more and have fun.I personally love the 3 car convoy 😍 whenever that happens. We plan to start from Murqab and drive towards Faqa which is a bit of a technical challenge good to have in the beginning hours. We then head onto Sabkhas and try to take the cleanest route to the long range "honeymoon" dunes of Faqa, heading towards Solar park as quick as we can. Depending on the time we reach there we will explore Little sweihan which are great for some play in and out of white sand bowls. Finally heading towards South Qudra and exit there. While this plan with a "spunk" is specifically for IM to give you a mix of all aspects of desert driving in multiple areas and not just one or two - technical, speed, ridges, crossings , distance covered and play areas . Please note the exit planned is around 11.30 am as we drive through different areas. We will hope to stick to our plan, as plans change in quick time on sands.🤣 Be ready for some good fun on Saturday morning.

  22. I will vote for LC, personally for regular desert outing than LR3 because of lot of cracking, fading plastic + extra electronics and over engineering for GCC climate will make it expensive to maintain 10 year Land Rover than Toyota with minimalistic and proven engineering for GCC climate. That's why LC holds the resale value better than LR3 anyway.

  26. Have been watching some of the videos posted and comments from the beginning and quite a lot of content, thanks to everyone who has contributed, as @Rahimdad said its wise to watch and learn what not to do. Most of the accidents/events are due to people defying logic/gravity or basic off-roading sense (easier said than done), isn't it wise to feel your car, as in gravity and your car will tell you when not to force your self and your car (its important to make the safer choice at that split moment, rather than be egoistic and risk damage or injury), again easier said than done because we make split second decisions. Most of the time its human tendency to do the extra mile (sometimes peer pressure, if he can do it so can i...or just having a competitive nature) which creates trouble, after seeing these videos realize how bad some of these could be (Life changing incidents) and its important for each one of us to realize this sport can and has the power to change your life. It is fun but one mistake can cause pain to yourself or your loved ones or someone else. I fully appreciate the grading and skill level now and thanks to all the Marshals/Leads that actually draw a safe path for all of us and promote safety.

  31. I was lucky to get a 4 months used plastic bumper from Dubizzle at a throw away price. The owner changed to metal bumpers. I had relocated the number plate to rear tyre, and cut the excess plate holder area on the bumper to make the bottom uniform to avoid scooping of sand while descending. Will be looking to mount a aluminum plate below bumper as @Frederic advised.

  32. You can follow my method for my car. But my Pathy is an off-road vehicle only and sees hardly any time on-road. I think the longest journey it has seen this entire year was on the way to Liwa and back. But than again its a 19 year old car and I love watching people amazed as they see my little falling apart Pathy do everything. I just leave the bumpers filling apart for an entire year and close to passing time I get it fixed and passed, ready to surprise everyone for an entire year.
