  1. Drive Report We started off in the low dunes in Nazwa and practiced our angles, ridge riding, crossing and criss cross maneuvers. It’s always nice to start with a warm up and get into desert driving mode. Everyone was handling the challenges but as we began to motor @Lucky sAmreported an issue with his car, we had a look and there was nothing easily identifiable therefore in order not to risk any damage to his car I exited him to the nearest road. Not long before @asifk also noted that his car was overheating, @asifk applied the water spray to the transmission cooler and had his heat on full and was ready to drive again. We had one challenging low ridge ride and cross over to navigate which presented some issues for @Matt.T but a quick self recovery and @Matt.T was back on it. Well done, nice recovery. @asifk also got stuck on the same ridge, and again managed to self recovery even with one wheel in the air. Great recovery from you there Asif. As we headed towards Pink Rock , we continued to play in the smaller dunes readying ourselves for the bigger challenges that lay ahead. @Arman was next to report an issue, it seems his front right bush had gone, given the terrain we were going to encounter we thought it best to exit @Arman to prevent damage to the front springs. I took him to the nearest road which was at the 2nd of December Café, at this point @asifkhad decided it was also best to exit his car from the drive. Three down and we hadn’t even gotten into fully yet. We made our way to Pink Rock and as we did so the dunes and bowls became more challenging, having already assessed our Fewbie drivers’ skills on the lower dunes I was sure they wouldn’t have any issues, and they didn’t let me down, sweeping in and around those bowls with aplomb. Great work. I asked if the convoy wanted to climb Pink Rock with it’s scarred sands and hidden speed bumps and they did. I checked the terrain and finally, on the third attempt. found the best approach which would have minimal impact from cross tracks and bumps, but not after my car had taken a bit of a hit. Haha Told you I’d take the hits for you 😉 All drive leads do. @Ahab Shamaa showed the way and the convoy followed his path to the top of Pink Rock. Once they had all finished flexing their respective cars' muscles I decided to cross over and head through cowboy country, I was looking for Apaches and John Wayne as we went through. I can’t recall who said it was more Mad Max than Fistful of Dollars, but @Shehab Alawadhisaid it was more likely to be Mahmoud Max…🤣.It was certainly The Good, The Bad and The Ugly hee hee. We passed Pink Rock and went onto another play area, with a labyrinth of bowls and ridges which we all swept around with ease as we continued towards our final destination. I asked the convoy , as I always do, if they were happy with the pace, if they felt they could be challenged more. The call came to be challenged more so I did. The pace was raised a little and we enjoyed sweeping around all the wonderful dunes like a helter skelter ride . We had a couple of refusals but nothing major. With the convoy coping so admirably I kept going and we arrived at the back of Big Red, I asked for total concentration from everyone as the back of Big Red has some nasty surprises. The convoy didn’t disappoint, and we made it to the top at around 6:10pm. We weren’t alone, we had a couple in love who had red roses all around them declaring their love for each other. Or was it a photoshoot? Whatever it was I was sure they didn’t want Carnity invading them. We headed down, only after I had gone back up twice to see if there were any issues, and when we had finally gotten all back together, we went up and over and down the other side. Again the convoy was asked if they wanted to head back in and see the sunset away from the romantic scene. We tried, but it was all proving too much for @Paul Zeitoun son and with what seemed like a total breakdown in comms and convoy discipline I decided to end the drive before we had some more issues. @Matt.T you had a great drive, I know I pushed you, but you handled absolutely everything . Your self recovery too, no issues. Great to have you in the convoy. @Shehab Alawadhi, I don’t think you had a single issue the entire day and were big enough to admit when you hadn’t executed a cross correctly. Always a pleasure to have you with me on a drive and I am pleased your lady enjoyed it too. I hope to see her soon …buy her a wrangler haha Likewise @Paul Zeitoun, first time I’d driven with you, I was impressed with how you handle the Ram, great driving, great fun too. Now that I’ve seen you drive that thing, I am sticking you at the back of the convoy. @varunmehndiratta I know it wasn’t easy being behind the behemoth dune wreckers but you handled it all with aplomb, great drive. Well done too @Ashok chaturvedi, enjoy your holiday. Finally, a mega big thanks to @Ahab Shamaa who executed the second lead perfectly, honestly love having you at my back. I know you’ll reroute and keep the convoy safe. Thank you for getting the winch out when it was needed. It was a difficult scenario. @AlexPol I wanted you involved in recoveries like you had asked , but they all drove so well haha. You too had a great drive. Well done. @Islam Soliman thank you for sweeping everything at the back. I volunteer my time to lead people on drives because I genuinely love it. It's not just the driving itself and passing on knowledge. but driving with you guys. It’s great to have such a responsive and committed convoy. Thank you. I had tremendous fun today,

  2. So, I’ve been away for a while. I went home with the intention of never coming back but the cold weather and extreme covid lockdown conditions were killing me, it was impossible to do anything productive, plus the UAE kinda got into my blood. So I came back and opening a new car care centre with some friends next month. What’s new on the car scene? What did I miss? I heard petrol is getting more expensive. Still cheaper than paying 7dhs per litre at home 😂

  5. You guys did such an amazing job documenting this fantastic drive, there is not much else to say 😀 @Arman, it was unfortunate that you had to exit, but from the bit that we drove together, I can tell you’re an excellent driver with good command of your car. @Matt.T you handled the dunes beautifully even with a passenger to distract you 🤣 Seriously though, great driving. @Lucky sAm, sorry you had to exit the drive as well. You were not so lucky this time. I hope nothing serious with the car 🙏🏻 @AlexPol, always great seeing you and your gorgeous Jeep 😍 Thank you for keeping the convoy safe and moving. Also, a big thank you for teaching me how to adjust my suspension 😀 @Paul Zeitoun, great command of the Ram and great maneuvers when crossing over crests; keep it up 💪🏻 @Shehab Alawadhi, I was very pleased to see you slow your roll a bit on this drive 😀 You’re starting to get a better feel for your beast and to respect gravity a lot more. Way to go 👏🏻 @varunmehndiratta, your driving has improved tremendously since our last drive with Sri 😀 You build up more momentum now, and execute maneuvers much more precisely; bravo! @asifk, sorry you had to exit so early. Great self recovery on the crest. Yes, @Foxtrot Oscar, gave you great instructions, but your cool headedness, calm attitude and following instructions are what got you unstuck. Captain Ashok @Ashok chaturvedi, great command of the yellow Kaizen 💪🏻 Your driving skills are shining through, now that you have a more capable car 😀 Enjoy your vacation and see you soon! @Islam Soliman, good driving with you again and great job keeping it all safe, tidy and moving at the back! Last but not least, Angela @Foxtrot Oscar, thank you for a fantastic drive 😘 I know you put in a lot of work and effort to plan your drives so that they’re challenging with nice scenery. Well, if it’s any comfort, your hard work shows on your drives 😀 This is not to mention your great, positive attitude that rubs off on all the convoy making the drive funner and more lively. Thank you all for a wonderful drive, and see you all on the sand real soon 😀

  6. True @Paul Zeitoun and @Shehab Alawadhi... It was first time for me to.witness the sheer swag of these two vehicles.... On many occasions through the drive I was absolutely sure that one of you are having a refusal, but then you guys just pulled it through out of no where.... These are super awesome machines and you guys rock them with style.

  7. @Foxtrot Oscar first thank you for the amazing drive, I really love Badayir/nazwa area the dunes that just flow into on another that don't need much power just momentum. I had 1 refusal where I was stopped in a bad place but by the time I announced it I was already out. I will always admit when I'm wrong or when I messed up, no shame in that. Yes ill do my best to buy my lady a wrangler and get her to join Carnity 🤣 Thank you @Foxtrot Oscar for being a fun and amazing lead, @Ahab Shamaa love the car first of all and great job being second lead, @Islam Soliman as usual amazing sweep didn't leave anyone behind 🤣. @varunmehndiratta pickup are different in the desert, not many people expect such a large car to be twisting and turning in these types of dunes and when you see one its basically like seeing a flying whale (that is a reference to a heavy metal song by Gojira, @Paul Zeitoun check out the song Flying Whales - Gojira) hopefully the track wasn't too destroyed for you and I'm glad you enjoyed the show the two giants in the convoy were putting on! See you all in the next one and thank you for not making us shovel in the heat I'm so happy everyone dealt with their refusals/stucks by themselves!

  8. Trip report with a 🙂 Fab start to a packed week at work?... I would say yes atleast for me , and I wonder it was the same for all of you.?🤔 Always love coming back here at Margham for that nice breezy drive through some nice playable dunes , and it was great to have a varied mix of cars and drivers today for that. You all drove exceptionally well for a newbie drive to manage the challenges , which I kept on bumping up as soon as I realised all were nicely warmed up for it. Special thanks to @Ranjan Das for being by 2nd lead and the defacto lead for all of you, @Ahab Shamaa for performing center forward to perfection ( although you got only one chance to pull) and @Tamas Hoffmann for sweeping and chipping in last moment for support. Well done all of you - @Ranjan Pattanaik ( it was a pleasure to see how well you drove that explorer of yours )@Lakshmi Narasimhan ( well driven, minor refusals ),@Nithin Vaidir ( did well before early exit. I hope your family is all well), @Azfar Aboobakar ( sorry for missing you out as we had already finished briefing and were ready to leave) , @Richard Franks ( great to see how well you managed in all areas with that Rubicon) , @Kenneth Bollhardt (newly promoted to FB and how well you deserved that was seen on this drive) , @Ahmed Wagdy (some minor refusals, but all part of the game and learning-well done), and @N@ved ( great to have you on any drive with that cute little TJ of yours). Enjoy your week at work, remember this is not a weekend. 🤣😜 Cheers !

  9. Welcome back buddy, so good to hear from you and glad that you've decided to come back. Fuel has become like a stock ticker now so every fuel-up you go, roll the dice and fill up. Good luck with your new car place, hope it brings peace and happiness this time.

  10. Hey @varunmehndiratta, Everything is already sorted, strapped and secured 😉. Lets just ignore the fact that I wont be able to fit anything else in the trunk as it has been utilized to its max capacity 😂, but it is pretty organized and thats all I need. Your JLU has a much bigger trunk I guess, so it wont be a big challenge for you I suppose 😁.

  11. Usually it's not needed, but in case of serious repetitive mistakes caused by distractions, not adhering to trip lead instructions, lack of communication definitely demands the clearance of red flag raised by the same trip lead. Hope you understand the bigger concern we have with every promotion is to keep you and all other safe, at all times.

  12. @Mehmet Volga @Larry Cadden @Lawrence_Chehimi @Arshad Roojee @Serafino @Danish Mohammad @Pacific @rajeshkumar rathod @topgear @Ali Abas @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader @Antoz @Wrangeld It is getting hot! And I must admit after a morning drive with quite a lot of digging, I was a bit tired, but Mehmet took the lead and he did really well. Finding your way and making sure the level of the drive is right and keeping a nice pace isn't easy. We had to redirect a little when we were getting too close to the high pressure gas line, but Mehmet coped really well. A little right and left going around it, and back on track we were. With the playable dunes in sight, we had to exit the X terra and two more cars left us due to bored children or busy timetables. The rest of us reentered and we were off to have some fun. After playing a little, I decided to give Mehmet the lead again, as I felt he should have some fun with all of us following as well. I hope you all enjoyed this little desert dessert .There were some refusals and stucks but nothing out of the ordinary. Being second lead and keeping an eye on Mehmet, means I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I posted a few Looking forward to more drives with Mehmet in the lead

  13. Hahahaa, so it seems this one is a "reporting" drive 😂😂😂. My turn then. @Foxtrot Oscar Definitely one of the most amazing drives i've been in, the adrenalin rush didn't stop. Makes me eager to join one of your drives again. And just to get you to recognize the voice and the craziness, i was the one who brought up Madmax. I guess added some burning metal to the spice of the beats that were being discussed during the drives @Shehab Alawadhi, @Ahab Shamaa It was sad to see @Arman, @Lucky sAm and @asifk leave us, hope your issues are easily sorted guys. @varunmehndirattaThe 3T weight of the green whale did try to take me off course on a few interconnecting bowls, and it was difficult to launch it on soft sand a couple of times, but this is where the Hemi power comes to rescue. I really enjoyed every bit. @Ahab Shamaa, @AlexPol, @Islam Soliman, thank you for the support and for ensuring we all were safe in a tricky environment. You were so prompt to jump to the rescue every time you sensed someone in need. @Shehab Alawadhi, you are totally right, this is the best area to enjoy our whales, though some surprise dips and bumps do hurt. Always a pleasure driving with you bro. Enjoy your week all, and till next time

  16. The trip through my eyes. I'll let @Janarthan do the trip Report as ot was his drive. This is just my point of view for the drive. I was happy to see everybody reaching on time and deflating. With just 9 cars I was smacking my lips at the opportunity of an amazing drive and @Janarthan didn't let us down. We had everything from side sloping, to criss crossing, to some really soft patches in technical area, to wide open dunes. No one was spared, not even the lead, moreover the lead as he boldly took us places putting himself in nasty situations to give us an amazing morning out. Not to forget the sighting of an injured Falcon, reporting it to the Muncipality and doing our good deed for the day. My sincere thanks to @Janarthan for allowing me to sweep giving me an excellent position to watch our convoy closely. @Tbone was excellent choice as second lead to react quickly as required to stop or reroute the convoy. @Chris Meir was doing so well in the third position. Only thing that allowed us to have a break was his transmission heating up, hope you got it checked and are ready for more action on the coming weekend. @imranaasghar81 was as usual ready with his rig to set the dunes on fire as he recorded his 360 degree video we have all come to admire so much. His spirit and intentions are as good as his driving skills and it was a pleasure to drive with him again. @Anand Nataraj was an amazing choice as Centre Forward and was always present helping out with the stucks and refusals. Loved his energy during the entire drive. @bassel el rafei was in his Pajero and has a great attitude. We went through some rough and tough patches, but he was able to make it through. My only observation was the slight fishtailing during some soft patch sideys and criss crossing. This made these manoeuvres look a bit rough and dangerous. But I'm sure he would work on these on the upcoming.ing drives and understand better on the lines to take. @Nacho along with his guests is an Absolute fun person to have on any drive. It was no different this time as we had good laughs and enjoyed driving together after a long time. @Dodi Syahdar in his Raptor was tearing up the tracks leaving me with soup for the entire trip. I know I'm a bit on the plump side, but soup diet for an entire drive. Hahahaha. I also noticed him missing certain lines and fishtailing, but appreciated the counter steering and usage of power to get through. My images have been uploaded to the Gallery. If you like them is because @Niki Patel has given me a tip I follow which really makes a big difference. If you don't like them, is due to the fact I have loads to learn. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/639-fewbie-al-qudra-dubai-26-mar-21

  17. @Foxtrot Oscar thanks as always for an awesome drive today.. I am been in the near same area before but the wind swept dunes keep changing and some sections become a bit of challenge. We reached the pink rock and I for the first time saw an ancient almost man made stone wall near 500 mts long protruding in the sand and could be longer below. Would love to go back and take some fotos of this wall.. there were plenty of volcanic rocks and fossilised magma scattered around. The area appeared a fotographer paradise in the ignorance of Covid scare and foto shoots were happening and plenty of tourist on dune buggies.. we did have some stucks and retrieval. I enjoyed watching the white pajero @asifk near perched on a crest retrieve itself thanks to Angela talking him through.. what best lesson for all of us is never to panic and be calm rather not digging oneself @asifk we'll done. @Ahab Shamaa my dear friend always comes in play when needed. @Islam Soliman was doing the sweep and couple of times missed the tracks but a great comfort to have him behind us. My FJ actual floats and has from the day I brought it into the desert has never let me down. We did have some sort of radio trouble and the frequency was changed from 3 to 4 by Angela, my radio also behaved strangling. It was like holding a baby put it down and the squelch screams but hold it in hand it will stop. I am off on a 3 weeks break to India and shall miss the drives very much.. specially the anxious wait every Sunday for 7pm to press the button. Final here I do find myself under used by some trip leads.... regardless I enjoy all/any position in the convoy.

  18. As always, it was a pleasure to support @Emmanuel's drive. Having @Brette in the same convoy was an excellent extra. Two very calm and patient marshals, which made the drive enjoyable and go very smoothly. I was pleased to see several new faces as well, and have the chance to observe everyone from the back of the convoy and check their skills handling the dunes and their cars. I believe that @JeromeFJ did really well as second lead, rerouting when asked to, which made it easier for the rest of the cars to follow the tracks. @yunus Kazi's Pathfinder struggled a bit to find the path 😁. However, he managed to recover and learned a few useful tricks. @Chris Wing, @Adhir Saxena, @Ammar Naji, and @Sai Baskaran did extremely well with minimal to no refusals despite the patches of soft sand. @Kenneth Bollhardt handles the Prado exceptionally well despite being at the back of the convoy where the track gets a bit churned up, and so did the fellow wrangler drivers @I.M. Shousha and @Ehunaiti (congrats on the Fewbie promotion, btw). All in all, it was absolutely worth the early rise! Photos and videos will be shared in the drive's gallery. Hope you all enjoyed and see you soon again in the sand!

  24. The temperature was around 37 deg cel and it was certainly warmer than the last afternoon drive that I had the week before. Nevertheless, it was still a great drive and learnt something new again. The terrain and challenges were mixed and it was great. The entire convoy was helpful and managed to deal with all the challenges. I enjoyed following your tracks and did not encounter any major stuck @rajeshkumar rathod, I hope your car is sorted soon. Thanks to @Mehmet Volga and @Jeepie for leading the convoy and the dessert at the end. Special thanks to @Wrangeld for giving me the tug when I got crested and for the radio guidance when I had a couple more refusals towards the end. Hope to see you all soon! I have shared some photos too.

  25. Post Drive Report @Gregory @Yawa @Roda Kum @Shereen Shaaban @samamara @Mohamed Madani @LACOURIE @Rjducos @Batuhan Kulac @Alexander Alcala @Wrangeld A slightly frustrating drive because without the recoveries in the soft sand, this was a well driven drive by all. With the benefit of a few experienced drivers in the convoy, it sort of left it to the 'a little too low' Range Rover of Mohamed and the 'technically challenged Land Rover of Roda to provide all the entertainment. @Gregory - great 2nd drive, putting everything we learned into practice. Hope you can get back soon. @Yawa - all that time in the passenger seat paid dividends. @samamara - well done. I am still reliving some of the screams I heard. Please sort out access to the tow points. @Roda Kum - you need more time out in the desert and on line to find out how to set up your car so that it does not stop you having fun. @Shereen Shaaban - lesson learned. We put the advice there for a reason. @Mohamed Madani - Considering the clearance you did well, but there are a lot of compromises when the car is so low to the ground. Hope you were able to refix the scuttle plates. @LACOURIE - well done on the promotion. Looking forward to seeing you on more drives. @Rjducos - years of experience show through. the control of the vehicle was a pleasure to see and I hope you come backto show us more. @Batuhan Kulac - I wait to hear that G63 purr it's way around the dunes again. Great drive. You'll find high profile tires make progression much easier in Fewbie. @Alexander Alcala - wow! What an incredible amount of experience to have on the drive supporting the members. Truly a privilege. Looking forward to seeing more. @Jeepie - brilliant, calm, collected safe and secure as ever. Thanks everyone. See you soon in the sand.

I settled with this: - JZX 2T Low-Profile jack - 2in thick wooden jack board (probably will eliminate the need for an extension) - Incase an extension is required, I plan to use that wooden cube, placed between the jack and the car body. (It was suggested by the jack retailer, what would you say about this?)

  39. Thank you so much @Jeepie @Mehmet Volga @Wrangeld for your support and help to make this trip successful. Drive was really amazing we all loved the rout along with beautiful terrain, sand was soft and hot too we got few refusals but it’s a part of learning with fun everyone did very well by doing self-recoveries which reduced shovel time during hot weather. (Good support by Convoy) Thanks to entire Convoy for excellent team work.

  43. Thanks @Foxtrot Oscar for the lovely drive... The bowls were simply awesome... Enjoyed every bit of drive with the team . I guess the machines were no match to teams enthusiasm n skills - we had our share of minor niggles over radio and had to let go the Pajero, TJ and Patrol. @armaan @Lucky sAm and @asifkhope you guys could or would get it fixed for next drive, looking forward to see you back in action. Thanks to @Ahab Shamaa for cracking the code to Camel Rock and to @AlexPol and @Islam Soliman for keeping the convoy togather through the labyrinth of bowls... I experienced and truly enjoyed the awesome aura of Raptor and HEMI, both have mastered the art of seduction..😀 - a bit of distance and they were the energy boosters and everytime I tried venturing into the inner circle the heat was a bit too much for even my Jeepto handle, leading to couple of refusals. Lesson learnt - some things are better cherished with eyes only. @Shehab Alawadhi @Paul ZeitounZe Was my first drive with @Ashok chaturvedi was fun meeting you hope to catch up again once you are back from India. Thanks guys for the nice evening, looking forward to drive with all again soon.
