SUPPORT TEAM Once you decide to join Team Carnity to excel further with your off-roading, people, and commanding skills, you will be extensively trained by the whole Team Carnity from Expert - Marshal - Crew at various stages by supporting different levels drives. After your Support Team promotion request is accepted, you need to receive minimum of 4 different Marshals / Crew approval by supporting 4 or more Newbie drives, so that you can attain adequate exposure for bigger roles that come with more responsible and commanding tasks in the future. To learn and demonstrate your recovery and self-recovery skills. Help individuals to self-recover or use tow rope or winch recoveries. To demonstrate your convoy commanding skills in difficult situations. And people interaction skills to manage the convoy with clear communication. Once you receive 4 different Marshals / Crew approval, then you will be eligible for your Advisor promotion. Eligibility criteria: Maximum two rounds of 4 Newbie drives each will be assigned to you with different Marshals for demonstrating your skills, knowledge, commitment, and team player attitude. You must attain a full consensus of all 4 Marshal / Crew in either the first or the second round as a qualifier. Full 4 drives consensus need to be achieved in either round for you to proceed, else your promotion request will be rejected permanently. You may of course continue in the Carnity Off-road Club at your previous rank.

Dear LORENZO ….. sounds like ENZO Ferrari to me After the last drive with you ….. which cost my pajero upper arm and lower arms but I enjoyed every bit of it 🙋….so part 2 sounds like a continuing a creepy movie 🧟‍♀️….. well I am all set 😎🧑‍🚀 to fly the pajero in the bowl 🍚….

You're in for a treat ... at least I think so, because the terrain here is varied and quite challenging in parts: For sure, we have to cross one technical section of dunes that will require all your concentration and keeping your wits about you. There's also some wonderful wide dunes and slopes on which we can play and practice what you've all learned so far on your off-road journey (whether that's 1 previous drive or 100). I promise to post the meeting place later in the week (need to be sure that the gates that have to be open are still open). Once again, we request that in the event anyone cannot attend, remove your RSVP and post something on the forum here as well [it's just polite to let us know you're not coming]. Ideally no. If the tyres are worn out I would recommend changing to ATs like Yokohama or Kumho. BFG and Cooper are too heavy and have thick sidewalls which are not the best in the sand. But if the existing tires are in good shape, you can continue using them on the sand. Not the best option, but it will do.

There are quite a few FJ-ers here who can weigh in on the options that you have found or shortlisted.

I ran on HT tires till fewbie + (15 drives almost), untill one of them had air leakage and tire shops couldnt identify the reason. if you get a used car with 4 good HT tires, perhaps sell them as a set and get new AT tires are your best option. you dont want surprises in desert.

Dear @ShereenMK, unfortunately this is a Fewbie Plus drive and your rank in @Carnity doesn't allow you to join it. I have therefore removed it from the RSVP, I hope you understand this is for your own safety, especially in this particular drive that entails going through some very large and deep bowls and across some very high dunes. I'm sure you'll sure make it to Fewbie Plus soon and look forward to having you in one of the next drives.

Thanks for this feedback @PaoloMaraziti! I spoke to a few tyre shops this week and most of them have agreed to buy my tyres off of me as they're still quite new. I'll see if they give me good value when the final deal comes to play before going to the marketplace. When it comes to rims, do you folks recommend holding onto the old rims for a re-sale? And if I go with beadlocks, do I need to get 5 rims or 4? Sorry, if this seems like a dumb question 😔 Actually, scratch that. I just did some searches and read through some posts on here, and I'm going to put the beadlocks on hold. Will make incremental changes and see if I really need them.

FJC is a good choice you made for offroading as in stock form they are absolutely amazing. Just make sure you buy FJC with road HT tires than AT to be sure that it was a mall crawler and not extensively offroad driven or abused. For offroading lighter AT tires are must have, but you can still manage newbie to fewbie level drive with HT tires.
