  1. I've not been on GN fun drive, but i have gone with a local radio station for couple of drives, long before joining carnity, and that too with my Ford Explorer - 2011. It was definitely safe for newbies (*refer end of story below also ) , and i presume GN also will be safe for newbies, provided they dont ask for any offroad experience as a pre-requisite. The drive i went for had a dinner at a good desert camp with all regular stuff in a desert safari - barbeque, belly dance, tanourah etc etc, so that took care of the fun element to a certain extent. The drive itself was a new experience for me, so it was kinda fun at that time. But now, after drives with Carnity, i think the drive part would be boring, because 90pc you would be going through flat/low terrain, with a bit of climbs and drops - managed one car at a time by the marshalls/organisers. **now the bad news - i had a very bad experience on the second drive - the drive was marshalled by a popular offroad group from Dubai, and there were many convoys, and you wont believe it, one of the convoy leads lost his way!!! and i was part of that convoy. they kept on coming back to the same point (i didnt have Gaia gps that time, but from my interest i downloaded a basic app which would show offroad tracks and i could clearly see that we were moving around in circles) it was getting dark, and they panicked. Finally , to get us out , they took us through really tough terrain, sharp drops, very technical areas etc etc and i and many others sustained damages to cars. One car was abandoned (i think it was a honda pilot) and i dont know what happened afterwards. We reached the desert camp at 9PM , while the scheduled time was 6PM for dinner. So had to satisfy ourselves with some leftovers and go home , a bit shaken. I believe this would be an exceptional case, but since this topic is opened, i thought i would pen down my experience as well.

  3. Hi , I would like to share my experience of the decision i have taken in this regards so others might have the benefit without scratching their heads over and over thinking about the way to go at least the Pajero Owners . so in my case , as i already have a 3" lift kit i have decided to go with the bigger tires than my original ones so i have installed on my car the Geolander G015 265/65 R18 and following are my observations : 1. Noise : in regards to the noise , i couldn't feel much of noise increase compared to my H/T (10/10) 2. Drive experience sand : much better Grip and traction on sand my engine in much happier ( 10/10) 3. Drive experience on the road: I have felt a better control ( marginal ) on the road with my old tires especially on the curves, but i think this should because of the higher tires wall , but I got used to it after a few drives ( 9/10) 4. Speedometer error: as per my calculations there is around 3.5% error margin in the readings of the dashboard so if your speedometer is showing 100Km/h you are actually driving 103.4Km/h and if your speedometer is showing 160 Km/h you are actually driving at actual speed of 165.5 Km/h . I tested this equation on my way to LIWA ( around 300KM trip ) and i didn't get any speeding tickets till now ( fingers crossed i will not get any 😂🤣) (6/10 ) 5. Tires Rubbing: i have experienced some rubbing caused by the mud flaps when going down a very steep incline and i solved it by simply removing them 😆, i might trim them later on ( 9/10 ) 6. The looks and appearance: My car looks much aggressive and better looking ( 10/10) I would rate my total experience 9/10 One important advice, please make sure to do the correct wheel alignment for your car after you install the bigger tires . cheers,

  33. I'd like to thank @Gaurav@Srikumar@Frederic you for organizing such an incredible event, as well as the other crew members and support team who made this journey possible. @GauravThis is the first time I've followed your lead, and it was as good as other marshals. The reason I say that is because everyone's main goal is to have a safe drive while having some fun. Thank you for your valuable advice and assistance with recovery; it was a good learning experience. @imranaasghar81Thank you for the second lead; you were right on the money with the gap and rerouted us with your expertise. @Alphin AloorIt was a pleasure driving with you for the first time, and I was always confident in following you. @LooperThe data and statistics expert You have been an excellent CF and have assisted us in overcoming adversity. @Fabien MonleauIt was a pleasure to drive with you; you made the 76 series sail through the ocean. @munkybiznessIt was fantastic to have your experience and advice during the journey and in difficult situations, my neighbor and Trip Partner. @Zixuan Huang - CharlieIt was a pleasure driving with you because you made that Nissan partner drive like a Y62 with such confidence and control. @Ashok chaturvediThank you for the sweeping; you've been driving on the bumpy track and assisting us in navigating through a difficult situation; you've been feeding us phratha and tea like babies; it's always a pleasure having you in the convoy.
