  1. Thank you @Kailasfor the wonderfull cool down drive,it was perfectly paced with ridge riding and technical drive,we were able to finish a bit early because everyone in the convoy drove beautifully, thank you @ASAD.for the 2nd lead @Vaibhavfor supporting @Sunny84excellent effort driving for the 1st time in the night @Federico Galbieriyou drive that fj effortlessly @Harshal in a tight technical area you drove that big truck perfectly @takeshi sobuethank you for sweeping the convoy

  2. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for a great drive and route! Also @Ashok chaturvedi and @Tom B for the support. We were all so focused on driving that the chances for taking photo's were limited. Still managed a few shots. At some point it was an awsome sight to see the convoy zig zaging down a dune in the softer afternoon light. See you all soon on the sand!

  3. Such a pleasant drive with a star line up. @Kailas thanks a lot for this drive and guiding us safely in the night. As we are aware that night drives there is always a lot of stucks and pop out. But the instructions given by you during the initial briefing was followed by every one in the convoy very carefully. Just 1 stuck and i can say 2-3 refusals and no pop out. Also the concept of giving a break in between the drive every hour is an excellent idea which went well until the end of the drive as everyone was still charged, @ASAD. excellent 2nd lead with regularly updating on the terrain. @Sunny84 you drove well being your first night drive. You got stuck but not during the night but evening means you are good at night drive , @Federico Galbieri You drove exceptionally well behind me with no refusal or stuck and maintaining safe distance. Looking forward to drive with you once again. @Waqas Parvez you supported really well with reaching out at the back of the convoy and front the convoy whenever there was help required. @Harshal We discovered a common link between us. Such a pleasure meeting you and hoping to see you soon on drive along with your son once your back from your vacation. @takeshi sobuehope the passengers enjoyed the drive. Get the bumper fixed and see you soon on the sand.

  4. Thanks for the update @Thomas Varghese! Is it fixed now by replacing the battery? Else you may need to visit an electrician to fully inspect cablings, fusebox, power draining and short-circuits...

  5. Makes sense what Zed is saying about the alternator 🙄🤔

  6. Thanks @GauravSoni for the drive, it was definitely more technical than Ale's previous drive. I've landed safely in Indonesia, so appreciate your wisdom in winching strategies along with @Ashok chaturvedi @Pacific bhais teamwork to get me out of a pickle bowl situation, else I may not be able to catch the flight 😂 As for @Thomas Varghese's car, I suspect it's the Alternator/Generator. The battery is only an energy storage, used to spin the Starter Motor to start the car as it requires a high voltage jump to start it. When the engine starts, through timing belt/chain it will power the Alternator/Generator which powers all electronics when the car is running. Additionally the Alternator also charges the Battery so it can start the car after stopping next time. Since Thomas's car constantly stopped while the engine is running, f seems the Alternator is not fully-functional at 100%, this also explains why the battery is dead (it's not being charged by the alternator). One of the first things I replace when I bought the 20-year old LandCruiser are: Starter Motor, Alternator, all Belts & Pulleys that power alternator, water pump, clutch fan 🙂

  7. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for yesterday’s drive. Was great to get back out in the desert after a month off. Everyone drove superbly, with minimal amount of refusals and no stucks. Thanks also to @Ashok chaturvedifor providing great support in the middle and @Gertjan for doing a great job at 2L.

  9. I will definitely keep one spare battery in my car from now on.... my own daily's battery died without sign this week; my pathfinder's few month old battery seems to be defective that doesnt hold charge for longer than 3 days; see at least 1 case each weekend that someone's having battery issue battery's failure can be solved easily just by ourselves, but so critical that can stop a fully mechanically healthy car from running....

  10. It could be the scanner it self causing all this 😇🤣🤭

  11. @Ale Vallecchi first time driving under your lead - it was epic… @Ashok chaturvedi + @Tom B simply amazing at keeping the convoy together and driving at all times. we started the drive when it was still blazing hot (49 deg at some stages), i was keeping a close look at my engine temp as the AC was running full blast. 2 - 3 minor stucks, which were sorted out within seconds.. Looking forward to our next drive with the same convoy. enjoy the weekend

  12. Interesting postulate @Zed, but I checked the alternator and its charging fine. All the theory you wrote about the battery and alternator is fine. The car stopped because the alternator had no capacitor to discharge the generated voltage and heated up as we disconnected the battery. It was heating up when it was connected to the battery too as theoretically as the battery once the cells inside separate then doesn't function as a capacitor. As explained before everything was fine until the moment the cell separation occurred inside the battery.

  13. Its 100% now sure that the battery died a sudden death inside the desert. I've purchased a new battery and now the car was running from morning till now without problems. 2nd time happening inside the desert. 1st time was on may 15th 2021 on a drive with @Wrangeld. The battery ran 1 year and 3 months and died suddenly without any warnings. Replaced with an Energizer batt made in Spain. 1st one which died was AC Delco, now 2nd one is the famous Amaron. As per the battery shop it can happen anytime when you do abrupt jumps inside the sands. The inside cell connections can separate and its sudden death for the battery. As for running without connecting the terminals again the car will die in 10 min when the alternator cannot discharge the generated voltage to the capacitor ie the batt and will become hot. I saw the code generated for abnormal voltage generation from the alternator 35 times in my scanner.

  15. @Gaurav Sonithank you for the loveley drive, which was challenging at some areas, however, I really felt we can do this drive and complete the little Sweihan challange, until unfortunately Thomas's car started failing on repeated occasions, which took out the last 1.5 hours of the drive. I am confident if we revisit the area, and hopefully with all reliable vehicles, next time we shall overcome the challange smoothly. To the rese of the team, looking forward to repeating the drive with you soon. @Pacific @Ashok chaturvedi thank you for being a great support as always 👏 👏 👏

  16. And now when u want to dig deeper, agency will simply react like in this step Sir we only use Jeep Oil Sir we only use jeep recommended oil Sir we use correct grade of oil And will never answer the brand, so easily as they know its the cheapest grade of oil they use (possibly made in sharjah). For two main reasons: Cost-cutting To increase your repair bill eventually as soon as car runs out of warranty

  17. Welcome back @Wade Pat2 330 from 230 stock (I guess) is almost a 50% gain, sweet. Looking fwd to seeing it in action soon. Don't listen to Zeddy for IFB climb, I'll give you a better offer - Faya right side from the ridge, lol. Just kidding. Of course, do your prelim test and work out on kinks and you will have the whole winter to enjoy climbs.
