  1. Dear Friends, It was a pleasure to drive with you this morning. Faqa proved one more time to be a beautiful area, with lots of possibilities. I think we made the most of it, with the technical part at the beginning, and these amazing long ridges parallel to each others. The beauty of an homogeneous IM convoy as we had today, is that as a lead I can just do whatever I like, go check that dune, go look at this bowl, let's see how long we can take the ridge .... and the convoy follows Ok in a few occasions, I could not climb a slip face, or I was trapped in a soft pocket, we had also a few stucks and refusals, but we had a great experience. and when I finally got crested, it was a sign that it was time to exit. Excellent driving from all of you, especially from the middle of the convoy to the back, were the sharp ridges where rounded, but the sand much churned. Many thanks @Joji varghese for an excellent 2nd lead, you were concentrated with excellent reactions when needed. Thank you @Vaibhav for watching the back of the convoy as sweep, with nice comms as usual, @Rob S @Waqas Parvez and @Rajiv Sam for the support, and all of you for helping the recoveries when needed. @ASAD., I hope your tire will be repaired or replaced without too much hassle and @Vaibhav your electronics back in order. Enjoy the weekend, and see you in Liwa YT for who are participating !

  3. Thanks at @Islam Solimanfor the solid lead today. And thank you to the support members for your experience and patience when dealing with situations as they arise. Again thank you @Islam Solimanfor noticing that my tyre pressures were too high when I had a refusal and the guidance you provided when getting me out. (Turns out the tyre pressure gauge I was using was faulty, luckily I had a couple of spares) All in all, the weather was great, if not a little chilly this morning for shorts & flip flops 🤪. The drive was great, many refusals but it’s these experiences that make us better at what we do and what we want to achieve. All the best guys have a great weekend. See you next week on our journey to Yellow Truck.

  5. Good evening Doktor...may be you are kind enough to consider a 7 am meeting time given some top matches happening till 1 am plus. If not 630 is fine, no worries. Temperature this morning in FAQa at 1030 was 26 deg C still.

  9. Another successful morning newbie drive complete, I love that no two drives are the same and this morning’s adventure was no different with lots of refusals and stucks. The drive started with beautiful weather and sub 20c temperature, an excellent and detailed briefing as always by @Islam Soliman including toy car and miniature dune demonstrations, this is really affective in understanding what’s going on during fishtailing. The sand had an adventure in store for us, arm workouts were provided courtesy of multiple shovel times, and a reminder from our leader to us my arms not back, thanks @Islam Soliman I had one refusal in a very soft sand patch, as soon as I entered the gladiator sunk quick, as the convoy ahead was dealing with a tricky sections. I tried to crawl forward but that was not going to happen, followed by an attempt to reverse while in 4Hi but this just out me a little deeper. Jeeps have a gear box that has 2WD, 4Hi Auto, 4Hi Part time and 4 Wheel low. Before going to 4 Lo, I thought I would try 4 wheel part time which locks the front and rear driver shafts in unison, with a little gas, steering left and right in reverse I was out of the situation relatively quickly, ready to find a way round that particular soft patch. I had one more refusal that just required a reverse and re attempt. Feel like I'm getting the hang of what my car and the sand is telling me about the way it handles The remainder of the drive was a masterclass in observing how to recover vehicles, clear radio instructions, patience and teamwork. Thanks @Looper @Joseph Sebastian and the rest of the for a fun morning. P.S. I got some 360 camera video that i will be posting at some point when I have the time to review it.

  10. Dear Friends @Imteeaz@Gok Krish@Lawrence_Chehimi@Beide Worku@Anoop Nair@Arda Yagcioglu welcome to Sweihan drives and in its fifth epic version which has been modified bit from my initial plan in terms of start and end only however the terrain remains almost same. What do you expect from Sweihan ? Expect to be in high focus and vigilance as we will be driving pretty fast. Will be climbing tall dunes with climax at NAGRA heights . Just follow the car in front and if in doubt don’t hesitate to exit at any point and announce and the convoy ( we are short convoy ) will come back and pick you up and try again or reroute as needed. please be on time 06:30 with full tank till the brim. Deflate your tires to 12PSI regardless of its type or even lower ( not lower than 10pSi ) if it’s all terrain. don’t forget to charge your radios and keep it on channel 1 please . convoy list will come later cheers 🙏

  20. @Senthil Kumar, honestly, I doubt that an important necessity to travel showed up suddenly between 6pm and now 9:30 pm. This is really not fair for the 2 members in WL who where excluded from the drive.

  30. Hey Mate I got my self a 2nd bumper from Sharjah Industrial Area, trimmed it and added skidplates. The one who did it for me has a nice setup for the facelift patrol. 0544433956 whatsapp me and I will share the pictrurs with you You have two options if this is not convinient for you, either you fabricate one out of fiberglass (many garages do that) or install one of the steel bullbars like ARB, and Predator (all Australian patrols have them) Fibarglass bars are weak, while steel ones are too heavy, so I found it best to have the two worlds combined by having a hybrid one Cheers
