  2. Can’t do this with a JL 😎 To be honest I haven’t actually camped in it yet I just have all the stuff, but it makes a full size double bed in the back, and I’ll just pile all the stuff in the back seat when camping I guess, I’ll let you know how it goes when I do 😂😂

  18. Leading a desert drive is the most amazing experience to have, where you can combine fun, freedom, creativity, strategic thinking and survival skills all at once. Leaders lead is the drive where selected Advisors will learn to lead under close guidance. Backed with the right techniques, experience and supervision so that you can learn the art of leading with peace of mind without any fear or pressure. You will be learning the basics of leading in the desert in three different sessions: Advance sand reading, plan your lead, plan your exits. Use navigational software for selecting the right course of the path. How to plan and scale the lead and recoveries in the most grueling terrain. Level: Selective Advisors only - @Looper and @Davie Chase When: 11 March 2023, Saturday Meeting time: 2:00 PM, (Sharp, without any exceptions) Meeting Point: Al Lisaili - https://goo.gl/maps/UDzJ7FKT2Aq5HcyFA Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. Approximate finish time: 6:00 PM Please RSVP on the below calendar:

  19. @Misha Puskar i will agree with @Benjamin. But if you have plan for bigger you can step up. I have kumho 285/70/17 AT. Good for desert. Arent expensive, means sub 3k.

  20. Hi @Misha Puskar Nice car! In my personal opinion it might be a good idea to have a look at the used car & accessories market. The reason for this is because I was faced with a similar issue when I found my thread was worn through on my old sport trim tires. Usually, you can find stock all-terrains from different JL-JK trim Jeeps from people who bought brand new cars and instantly switch to a larger tire or a different brand. You shouldn't have to worry about the difference between JL-JK wheels as both of them should fit onto the JK, this way might be cheaper that to buying 4 new tires much like how it was for me at the time. Also considering they are OEM parts off newer/older jeeps you shouldn't have to worry about petrol consumption increase as much. However, keep in mind changing your tire from road to all terrain will give on-road changes and may slightly increase your fuel consumption not by a massive amount though. P.S keep away from mud terrain tires if they end up being an option.

  23. Hi @Misha Puskar what’s the rim size you have? Sahara in JL is with 18 inch, am not sure about JK. This is a limiting element for JL as All Terrain options are limited with 18 inch above a particular size. JK in general I understand is okay to go upto 31 inch tyre without any challenge or need for lift etc. Most ppl here prefer Geolandar but heard some issues in new model with side wall. I have BF Goodrich AT2 and love them though a bit agressive looking(not wide but aggressive thread) and not smoothest on road. There are some threads where ppl mentioned about good experience with Michelin as well. If you choose the right size upto 285/17, generally won’t be an easy issue in JK. @Anoop K. Nair @Pacific have JK and can advice. Just wow … how practical don’t know. I really like @Gerrit Bus setup. Check it. It’s a limo jlu 😀

  24. Is it really what you use for? Pretty cool idea, we have quite a few truck - haven’t seen anyone use it to have tent on the truck. How’s been the experience? - first thought that comes to my mind whenever think of spending night in car is what to do with things already packed in it? Any ideas based on your experience

  30. hiya, I too have a question for my fellow jeepers! 6 months ago, I bought brand new, city tires that are great for SZR, however, with my now advanced 😁 offroad skills, I feel like I now need proper, all terrain tires. Google tells me all sorts of things, however, I d love to hear from you. I dont know much about tires, But I am looking for those that do not stick out like MAd MAx movie and wont increase massively my petrol consumption on SZR. NONO is chineese make but I also am not willing to spend ridiculously much, maybe upto like 3k? Any ideas? thanks! (My jeep is apparently JK Sahara 2017 - thanks to this thread I had no idea that jk and jl was a thing 🙊

  31. Thank you very much everyone. I'm pumped to hit the sand and experience this next level of driving! 😁

  32. Hi Misha @Misha Puskar The size obviously depends on if your Jeep is lifted or not and wheel size. JK comes in both 16" and 17" sizes I believe. As a general advice it's better to keep the current size for tyres to avoid any rubbing issues. For the type, I would recommend that you go for LT (which has 10 ply side wall which will give you more side wall strength) and AT tyres. BFG is standard coming as LT/AT but may be a little heavier for sand. Another favourite in the club is Yocohoma Geolander which comes as LT and non-LT version (the American spec with white writing is LT and without white writing is non-LT). Geo should not cost more than 650-700/ a piece so should be within your budget mentioned.

  34. Hi @Misha Puskar can you share the details of your existing tire (size, brand and year) along with some pics to further advice you more appropriately? Also, share your current usage of your Jeep, is it only an off-road toy or office+off-road vehicle? While off-roading are you only driving on sand or going to mountains often?

  41. RUBICON @Marketa Dobesova and with below pic, I rest my case
    1 point
  42. Hi @Marketa Dobesova Currently I'm driving a 2018 Jeep wrangler JL Sport trim, when I first got into off-roading I was generally surprised just how well the car performed, having said that I have since upgraded my car over time just based on preference however you can do all level drives with a stock Jeep. So first of all, with features including front and rear locking differentials, an automatic sway bar disconnect, and a Rock-Trac transfer case, the Rubicon is the most capable off-road variant however this isn't really needed (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe that the Rubicon transfer case has a higher crawl ratio which just means more torque. More fundamental off-road equipment like skid plates, tow hooks, and hill start assist are available on the Sport and Sahara models and too are present on the Rubicon model. When I first started looking at jeeps and their different trims it got confusing very fast, personally I would focus on trying to get a Sahara trim, because then you have the beauty of a sport trim with a little more comfort which if this car is also going to be a daily driver like mine it might be something to consider. The Sahara comes with 18-inch wheels whereas the sport comes with 17-inch. Now how does this make a difference? you get a little more height to work with when using the Sahara for this same reason I changed my Sport wheels for Sahara ones, and they also look really nice too! Style points 😂 Now it is all about what you prefer, older model jeeps are awesome but also with older cars comes more investment if something were to go wrong, I've had friends with 2004 model jeeps needing to get the engine rebuilt due to underlying causes. If you're in the market for an older jeep be careful because previous owners could've done a range of "upgrades" which will cause issues further down the line so just watch for engine modifications or jeeps that may seem 'too good to be true' Also, in the used car market look under the jeep it's common to spot bad rusting especially with older cars this usually occurs after taking the car to the beach and not getting an underbody wash to get rid of any salt that may have found its way onto the car's chassis. Overall, the Rubicon is the most capable off-road trim, while the Sahara is the most luxurious and comfort-oriented trim. The Sport is the most basic and affordable trim, but still has off-road capabilities. It ultimately depends on your personal preferences and intended use for the vehicle.

  43. Thank you all for joining this morning. It was one of these drives where we use our vehicles for what they are designed for: reaching exceptional places, crossing large portions of desert. And driving these vehicles might look easy at first sight, when following an easy track, but passing through this variety of terrain, considering the slopes, the very soft sand, the bushes, the long climbs, the ridges to cross, require definitely some skills. Well done everyone, especially at the back of this long convoy, where the tracks were churned by the previous cars, as we had only a few refusals, and one pull. Thank you @Hisham Masaad for assisting the drivers from the middle of the convoy. Nice dunes with a lot of tree shade, farms spread out on flat areas, an old watch tower, isolated breeding camel mothers with their calf, bigger herds of camels, cows, young calves on a sand slope, sheep, an amazing green sabkha, African savannah, just a sample of what we could discover this morning. and we even found a steep side slope to push our engines ! @Stumpy Paj Nathan, thank you for the 2nd lead, @Joseph Raju, thank you for the seep, both roles perfectly executed, @Hisham Masaad, thanks again for the support, @Sayed Bilal, @Bravoecho, @Bashar Beasha @Frans M @Abdul Basit Khan, @Glenn W @Gary F @Ahmad Nerat, it was nice having you today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon. Waiting for your pics in the gallery !
