knocking noise usually happens when the camshaft is not broken. What i suggest is get it changed and the knocking noise will go off. i hope this is what the problem is.

DO NOT DRIVE ANYMORE. Get to mechanic and let them hear it properly and comment. It could be from engine head, tappet, rocker/lifter, valves or from engine crank itself. Either case its very serious and you shudnt be driving until resolved.

Get the engine cylinder compression test done which can tell you how many cylinders are weak and by how much. Get injector cleaned before opening the engine cylinder and valves for cleaning.

it is in the rear housing of the transmission ! where the speedo cable goes into! it will have the cable running into it and then a 90 elbow into the transmission!
