Hi Jay, Welcome on board, we had a member who had Freelander LR2 as well and been with some of the club members for couple of Desert Drives and the car done great . Small car with powerfull engine the only drawback is clearence otherwise it was great . Enjoy it!!!

Dear Members, I am not sure if this subject was tackled before but sure was many other clubs. I have a Disco 1 with HD Standard Height Britpart Coils replacing the standard normal stuff 6 months ago and still running on factory shocks for last 179000 KM since 1999. Car is mainly for my weekend off-roading (Desert Mainly) Wadis and Gravels during cool season. Looking to change the shocks as the car lately has become too bumpy and goes Air Born with any hump during desert drive making it dangerous and unpredictable. Looking for good shock and been thinking first of the Britpart Super Gas or Cellular Foam , but was not really recommended. Then been advised of Dobinson, but no direct supplier for the Disco 1 Range . And now I am limited to the considered as best: OME or Koni Heavy Track. (Yet in Koni there is two option Mono-Tube like Belistin High Pressure Gas and Oil or Twin -Tube Oil Shocks) Prices are as follows: OME: AED450 per shock Mono-Tube Koni Heavy Track: AED 475 per shock Twin-Tube Koni Heavy Track: AED 550 per shock Anyone have any experience with the above and assist with some advice. Was your problem sorted out , as I have same symptoms with my Disco 1 1999 model and all started with a faulty Distributor , that I had changed with a used one , put on new Lucas Cap and New set of Original Cables . Changed the Spark Plugs, changed the MAF and the IAC Sensor, cleaned the throttle body, changed the fuel filter and the shrugging, spluttering, not running smoothly is there and some times it does accelerate and sometimes it doesn't cope !!! On neutral you can still hear the exhaust noise note very stable as it goes bhbhbbhbhbbbbbhbhbhbhbbbb like cough !!!

I had similar situation just yesterday while on a desret drive my Disco 1 1999 model 3.9 L V8 had stalled off and disn't want to start immidiatly checked everything but nothing then we checked the distributure and unpluged and pluged cables and it started again but yet it is not accelerating and then started misfiring and and not coping with petrol injection !!! And by chance met a convoy of 3 Freelanders and the guys are from LR techincal team in Dubai and they helped me to repair the Distributor as they found the Vaccum pulled appart with one screw missing and Rotor need to be changed as well as the Distributor Cap in simple words NEED REBUILD or Change with a Used One in good working condition!!!

Thank you guys , the window issue was sorted out and it was from main control panel wiring !!! but the electrician had switched the rear window control to the upper side of the panel and front driver window to down side of the panel LOL!!! Bit confusing so but will survive with it now. Yet to fix the central lock. Please advise if you can open the Petrol lid from inside the car without taking your key physically to open it, even though I like it this way as I feel , I am feeding my ride!!!

Thanks for the valuable recommendations . For windows I think the problem is from the main control panel as previously my side window used to work and now got stopped yet my passenger side window had stopped for a while and then back to life alone... LOL ! Will look at those !

Dear Friends, I have some problems with some electrical issues in my Disco 1 1999 Model as follows: 1. Central Lock is not working 2. Driver's Side Window not moving (Neither up Nor Down) 2. Passengers Side Windows could be slide down from Driver's Control but could not be closed up unless from Passenger control buttons 3. While Off-roading Radio (CD) cuts off from time to time mainly when hitting a dune or a hump... So any idea what might be the problem and if you know of a good recommended electrician to fix those accordingly. Thanks. Gas

LOL... Can't comment much to... yet I am pretty aware of it... but still beleive if all good intentions are there it could work along side. We are still pretty much supporting this forum as it is a very good platform from techincals and reviews yet FB is very dynamic to events crazy comments and immidiate updates of photos and uploads as well as events planing and invitations!!!
