It's really an impossible situation that bonnet opened while driving as it has manual latch with cable and no electronic involvement to fail / doubt. May be the previous time you close the hood or someone at service bay didn't closed it firmly and while driving on uneven road due to shake that latch opened......! Every time you close the hood firmly make sure you try to pull up and see that it latched properly.

Well I am not much of DIY guy in such work, but i can help you in pointing out the cheapest + fastest place to get this done safely and professionally. 1st option is Gulf star repair workshop in shj (06 5339603), 2nd option is Al Nakhala (Ismail garage) in sharjah 050 5866311. Gulf star will be slightly expensive over Nakhala and plus you might get to wait more as well. So see if you are happy with Nakhala if not switch to Gulf star. In Dubai your best bet is AAA, A2B Garage and 4x4 motor (all are pricey + long wait for such job).

I understand to prefer same radio to not to loose steering audio control, but my advise is to ditch that crap and go for Sony explod with remote, it gives much better clarity and crisp sound than original. Been there, done that twice.

Buying LR is usually a rich man car in UAE, and that's why often time it serves maint in gold platter. However in reality LR is very easy to work than Mitsubishi, Ford, Jeeps. So that you have to live with it if you go LR route, but it can be assisted with many good LR garage and at reasonable price: Al Tayer (most expensive), AAA being second, A2b being third, Gulf Star being fourth.
