  1. 2006 - 2007 is almost same unless you want upgrade a year. However in SLK what matters the most is engine size, stay away from 200 (if you can afford) go for 280 and above, they are more well built and less prone to problem. I had SLK 200 and was not at all happy with inferior build quality and AC failing on every summer in Dubai. My friend has 280 and it still runs fine in peak summer.
  2. Sounds very informative, also like to add on samrat advise that electronic gear oil needs battery in good health. If battery is getting old and not being charged for 15 days then also might trigger this leak (my guess).
  3. Have you ever wished to buy C Class from Mercedes fleet when they have so many beautiful cars in their stable. Well now after seeing this pics revealed i am sure you will be tempted too, i have gone crazy with the awedroooooling styling and elegance........!
  4. There are many fellas selling classic Merc in Aweer used car market and in Abu Shagara (in Sharjah) as well. Last year we bought one 1992 CL in good condition from Aweer (Japanese Import) with original paint.
  5. I am not that frequent, but come when i am free or need help and stuck, looking for some real time+money saving advises. Keep growing.
  6. Well if car has full or almost full service history then nothing to worry. I am sure Gargash also do the comprehensive check with you can get 100% peace of mind in knowing your future car. If Gargash take long time, then you get comprehensive test at eppco passing center (Tasjeel) for 250 dhs and they check almost everything nicely and inform you also about what might be failing soon in next 6 months - 1 year time.
  7. Well to be honest, perfection, class, elegance and performance comes at its own price and not every can afford Mercedes than those selective class of fortunate people. And that's why since ages Mercedes is a status symbol for rich perfectionist who can afford and value the work of art done with passion and not just quick job like Japanese cars.
  8. I am proud of Mercedes heritage too. Nice read and raised my eyebrow bit more
  9. Hey Mahmood, it should be luxury or lazy boy drive than fun drive. Correct me if i am wrong. But on a separate note, i would love to see different Mercedes models lined up on sheikh zayed road on friday and trailing together. What a sight....!
  10. Good point Gary, i also have not heard any yet. Searched google, gulf news, khaleej times even. None found.
  11. I really hope silber arrow stay like that forever as when any new business open in Dubai in auto world, they offer best customer service and interest and soon after year or so they become rude blood sucking vampire like many others. Every touch talks money money money.
  12. Its called pretension-er which is responsible for holding and leaving the seat belts.
  13. Check engine light actually comes for several reasons, as victor rightly said. -> If fuel cap not closed properly ->If battery is getting weak ->If gear oil or engine oil is dirty ->If spark plug is near finishing its age ->If spark from coils or wires is weak ->If timing belt is due to change ->If air filter is dirty ->If plug gap is incorrect or damaged
  14. I am sure by now your problem is solved. Mercedes r us asked chasis number to be sure of which battery you have as per owners manual, and nothing else. Next time you need to buy battery, you can buy Trane battery from emarat or eppco they have 1 year warranty and works like a charm. I have installed same 3 years back and still going strong without any problem.
  15. until or unless its a very old car or u like around sea its not very easy for Merc to get rust. i think it would have been better that you would have got a second opinion as maybe this guy wanted to make some money out of you.
